I decided to abstain from FB , Mylot and the internet last Good Friday. Instead I went home to our hometown, sans my husband who chose to just be at home to rest (since it’s their only closed day) . There were some meat dishes in my parents’ house during lunch and dinner , but I chose the fish. I felt good doing these abstinence, because I have full control of my appetites and gain some spiritual fulfillment for myself.

That was a good choice for you my friend. I am very sorry, I didn't observe all those things on this Lenten season. Instead, we eat alot of meat during the weekend. I abstain from eating of meat foods several years ago but now I stop. I was also taken advantage those days working online. I don't have choice because we are open those days. No holidays in our shop. I need money because I don't have regular job at the moment. Miguel needs milk, diaper and many more

Oh i can understand , july. Us Catholics have different beliefs. But we do our own way of making ourselves observe some traditions. They are just traditions and beliefs anyway, it's up to us to believe or observe them. What is important is you have Jesus in your heart and mind.

Thanks for this discussion, yes that was good, but i just don't understand why you did not eat meat but fish, both are non-veg any way, during religious celebrations we are 100% vegetarian, we don't consider milk as non-veg though.

Meat is the food not allowed by our tradition as Catholics during abstinence, professor, specially on Good Friday.

I was out from the networld for the last 3 days (had Thanksgiving) and spent 3 days offering prayers and praises. It's nice to spend some days with the Lord

I salute you Jaiho for doing that for 3 days. I know it's hard but then you triumphed. Yes, it's nice to spend some days with the Lord and that's what Lenten season is for.

Hi SimplyD I am going through some bad phase I guess. I have not been regular anywhere on the internet since the start of 2013 - and these days I am completely non-addicted to any website. I just dont have that feeling and no, there is no religion involved. I feel happy for you that you did take your time off and spent the day with family at hometown. I wish I could do that too....

This good friday, I also refrained from utilizing the internet that much. I actually ended up logging into FB sometime after midnight and like you also choose to eat fish (tilipia), which is actually my favorite with some veggies. I tried to stay away from meat that day.

It's nice to be able to refrain from internet even for a day. Worldly pleasures can sometimes be consuming,. Actually, they have meat viands for lunch last Good Friday. What i did was tuck some of it in the fridge and just eat the fish, just like you. Oh yes, i love tilapia too, specially pinaputok!
