Hey Scubapro,
I think i was about 10 years old when i had my first email account and i believe it was with hotmail and yahoo. I can't remember which was first. Then after that when i was in Sec 1, i set up another hotmail account which i still use till now but it's more for stuffs which are not important but more for leisure.
I had set up a gmail account quite some time ago but i was loyal to hotmail and just wanted to stick to hotmail. However, when i was in college, a hotmail account really looked children and informal. I could not have a hotmail account in my resume and therefore i had to switch to my gmail account. I however had forgotten my password and therefroe had to set up a new gmail account. but this time, i used my name because it would look more professional. As for now, i mainly use 2 email account. one hotmail and one gmail. the gmail one I use it mainly for more formal stuff like work and school while the other I use it more for leisreu purposes.
Furthermore, i signed up to complete surveys which are mostly send to the hotmail accoutn.

you are right, 10 years ago gmail was really not popular and hotmail was like the 'in' thing then.

I have used gmail about 4 years, I never seen a problem that make me inconvenient. I ever use yahoomail before use gmail, but I often see spam in my inbox and it is too much. So, I never use my yahoo account. After I use gmail I never use other site for my email account. Have a nice day.

I used have Hot Mail however a few days ago it changed to Outlook. I am yet to learn all about it. A few years ago I used an email account called Free UK. It was free to begin with then it began charging for it. Both E Bay and Pay Pal have that email address which I haven't been able to change. Therefore I have to keep the Free UK email address. The Free UK email is very very very slow to load.

In the good old days there was limited storage and so I opened my account with several of them - yahoo - 2, gmail 2, rediff 2. I have not deleted these accounts although these days we are permitted to do so. I like gmail of the lot but I am active in all of them.

I have an account with Yahoo, Outlook, my cable provider, and g-mail. I haven't had any problems with any of them. I think the one I like the best though is the one provided by my cable provider. Second would be Outlook, then g-mail, then yahoo. I haven't closed any of the accounts because I still use them all.

My first mail account was with Hotmail. I was always getting spammed and viruses through my email. Someone turned me on to GMAIL and I've been using it now for about 6 or 7 years. I like Gmail a lot. One of the things I LOVE about it is the telephone calls you can make from your Gmail account on line. Love that feature.
Another provider I like is Hushmail.com. Hushmail is supposedly completely private unlike the other mail providers. So if you send sensitive info in emails this is one you might wanna try.

I used to have Yahoo mail until recently, I'm having trouble opening my mail and it's taking forever to upload. Until now, I stopped attempting to check my Yahoo mail since I can't access it anyway. I switched to Gmail and it's easier to access with no problems at all :)

You can try creating different accounts for all mail providers. then you decide which is the best amongst the rest.
