I am doing a 30 day free clutter clearing course. Most of my lounge or living room is looking lots better. I wish to tidy up my desk and it is challenging to know what to put on to it. I have a telephone, a lamp, a small music player, a pen pot and a printer. In one of the drawers underneath it I keep A4 paper.
How about you?
What does you desk look like?
Which things do you have on your desk?

I have both my computers on my desk, I use my laptop mainly and my Mac is for playing my music on, I have my desk diary on top, a book full of all my passwords, a mug of pens and pencils, and all the medication I need to take on a day to day basis. I also tend to have empty crisp packets and tin cans when I am busy on Mylot I snack. I also have two coasters, one for my coffee mug and one for my glass of water to take the medication.

There is a running joke here where I work. When people on the floor go looking for something, like a piece of document or a drawing, they would most likely find it on my desk. Most days I would be rushing to get shipments out the door that I let a few documents pile up on my desk which I try to sort out at the end of the day.
I do need free my desk from clutter.

My desk at awork has quite a lot going on as I need a lot of stuff to be to hand all the time. However, it is always organised in how the stuff is arranged.
My desk at home though is quite empty in comparison as I used to work from home and now that I have moved back into the office, I have got rid of a lot of stuff from it and only use it occasionally so it has a few storage trays etc but, apart from that is pretty clear!

My desk has the computer, a basket for bills, my agenda, and a few small toys that were randomly left there.

My desk is a mess. In fact I have two computer desks that I never use so I pile the papers on them plus books. I am not exactly a neat freak although when I put things on it, I try to keep it straight. One computer desk, I have my printer and at the side, some paper for printing, in legal and letter size and on one side I have a plastic container where I keep my ink cartridges, staple remover and pen or so.
On the other computer desk of which I am furious because no one has ever asked me what I had on it and that is the reason I hate surveys, I put everything in the top dresser that fit and the rest on the portable file cabinet. That means I will later have to go through the cabinet and sort that out.

I just got done decluttering my desk. Right now it has the computer, the printer and a lamp. I have a tendency to pile up the mail there and coupons and newspapers and everything else I don't want to deal with.
Sometimes I do a one minute "tidy" and I can tolerate that amount of time quite well. I my do it in each room. Sounds a little silly, but no stress and gets something accomplished.

I'm glad to hear that you are taking a thirty day free clutter course. It is amazing how taking things like that really help us. I have been getting emails from a program called flylady and she is helping us to keep our house organized. Things are improving a lot better for us as well.

My desk is cluttered until my mind blocks and then I clear both in one determined effort. I don't so much clear the clutter away as hide it out of sight but it still does the trick and I feel creative again.
as a result of this my desk at the present is clear except for a telephone, a coffee mug, a collection of pens and pencils and a plastic basket. There's the rub because the plastic basket is a temporary home for the clutter I still have to find a place for...
