I just happen to find a bunch of Ma and Pa Kettle movies from the 40's and 50's and they were hilarious. We were able to watch 6 of the 10 movies. They star Marjorie Main and Percy Kilbride. Its a story about a poor farmer with sixteen kids who end up winning a beautiful house. Then it follows with more movies where they go to town, on vacation to New York etc... Have you ever seen any of these movies if so what did you think of them?

Hello Lelin, I´m glad to read you. No unfortunately I don´t know them, but I´m very happy when I watch the movies once I watched at my grandparents house more than 30 years ago. They seem so tender and innocent.
You found a treasure!
Blessings Lelin... dainy

I know I saw one of them, or maybe two of them, but truthfully, don't remember what they were about. I did like them though but haven't seen them in years and years. I do remember they had a farm and were poor, right? I remember thinking they were fun movies to watch and I'd watch them again if I could, but I haven't seen them on tv at all lately. I love the older movies, so much character!

I'm addicted to the old movies. These movies were black and white but very good quality movie with alot of character. I found some of them on my Apple TV. They made ten movies in all and I was able to see about only six of them. I have to find a way of seeing the other four.

Hi lelin, I have watched these movies on TV but it was quite a few years ago since I saw it last. A friend was telling me that he came across one on TV, just a few months ago.I think that they are hilarious and great when you just want to relax. There are probably some channels that still show them. Blessings.

I have seen a couple of those movies but not for a long, long time! Marjorie Main was a wonderful character actor and I see her a lot in various old movies. I remember seeing her in "The Egg and I" with Fred MacMurray and Claudette Colbert, which was a hilarious film about naive newlyweds who buy a chicken farm. I looked it up and that was her first role as Ma Kettle!
I love old films and yes, they are hilarious. The humor is clean and real, not tied to current events, cultures, or fads. I also liked the way I can see, as an adult, humor that went over my head as a child but tickles me as an adult. Older movies like the Ma and Pa Kettle series can entertain people of any age!

I tried to find that movie "The Egg and I" on my apple tv but it wasn't there. I would love to see that movie because I also loved watching Claudette Colbert in the movies. I love having a day of watching old movies they were so good and entertaining.

I probably saw every Ma & Pa Kettle movie that was made. When I was a kid, we would go to the drive-in movies (bet you don't remember them) every time a new one came out. Usually there was a double feature. To see them now, I think some of them are right corny. But back in the 50's we thought they were top notch.

I know about drive-in movies(I'm 56 years old lol) but never been to one. My husband and I watched about 6 of the ma and pa kettle movies and we really loved them. They were hysterical. I have to find the other 4 so we can watch those too.
