Being sad is a natural for us to fee as a human being. I think, we cannot avoid this feeling. It's either we failed to get something what we wanted, lose someone or something etc, etc. Well, there are a lot of reason why we felt such.
But of course, we need to do something to overcome that feeling, I guess my question is, what do you do when you are sad?
Me? I do bought my favorite fries in McDonald or eat an ice cream. Or if i am not that busy at work and have enough time, I read books. This will lessen the sadness that I am feeling at that very moment. I guess, you as well have your own way do lessen your sadness.. care to share? :-)

Hello,
You are right. Like rotation of cycle tyres, our life also circles all phases. The happy phase passes very fast, thus that period seems short, but the sad phase lingers on and one feels like praying for it to be over. When I am sad, I normally go out of house. Earlier I used to go for shopping. But on many occasions, this move to change my mood proved to be very costly. Now a days, I do not carry my purse and instead go for window shopping or some exhibition. Making myself acquainted with new products in the markets, uplifts my mood very quickly.

Whenever I feel sad, I make myself busy. I do anything just to forget the sadness that I'm feeling. I listen to songs that make me feel happy and relaxed. Most importantly, I pray to God to give me happiness.

Usually, I do nothing when I am sad. I just sit down and sstare out of the window at the beautiful tree out there. Sometimes, I go to the park, beach or a short walk. Going to beautiful scenic places will often destroy the sadness in us.
Yes, you are right in saying that sadness is natural. Sadness is not a choice. It is not that we want it or choose it. Sadnes just comes, just as happiness Perhaps, sadness and happiness are two sides of the same coin. It is not possible to fight sadness. One cannot force oneself to be happy.

Well, as I see it, there is: sad; and there is: depressed. From my experiences, one can be sad without being depressed, which I would call melancholy; nostalgic. By the same token, one can be depressed without being sad. A heavy depression can leave a person feeling flat, empty. Although feeling sad can be painful, there can also be a certain joy, even an intense one, in sadness, together with the pain. Although deep sadness is another matter: here there is no joy. But to return to the question...if I'm sad, without being depressed, I'll just keep going; it might help me create: I'm an artist; a singer, songwriter, writer. I might use the sadness to fuel my creativity. If the sadness is a mild lowering of the spirits, I might try to work it off by doing something creative or useful. On the other hand, if we're talking about depression, in my case this is more often than not accompanied by deep tiredness: I am a sufferer from sleep difficulties. So I'll really not be able to do anything. I might try and work; then I might eat something. But in the end, I'd be sure to try and sleep. Or I'll aimlessly surf on the internet. If it's a truly deep depression, I might try and speak to a close friend. Music can make me sad; but this is pleasant, melancholy, nostalgic sadness: and what I'll do very often is simply let the tears fall down my cheeks. Yes, I'm a highly sentimental individual.

Whenever I feel sad, it hinders my day's progress and the way I make it. I fail in doing things in my standards and so I get frustrated as well. Here's I do whenever I'm sad. I figure out what makes me sad. And if I can help it, I would use my sadness as motivation to turn the tables around. But if I can do nothing at the moment, I would figure out what I can do to turn it around eventually and start the preparations for it. At this point, I would be feeling better. After that, I sleep.
When I wake up, I start the plans. And the events after that hard work, I would feel a lot more better. I still won't feel the same as I did on normal days but it's a beginning. If all else fails, I either take a book and read or draw or crochet. Crochet is the best because it would allow me to take apart my problem piece by piece and determine what I would like solving first.
Last time I was sad, I took a minute to go outside, sit on a chair and cry (after a long long time). After that one minute, I stopped my tears, stood up, feeling like a rubber and went back to work. The reason for that sadness is that my flash drive expired on me, taking with it a lot of very important files plus a 3 months worth of hard work. A good thing though is that I was able to make a copy of that file a few days back and now I am re-writing things.

Good day to you KhrystkaShandelle,
For the past few months, my eyes are always wet due to the tears that flows out from it due to the situations that I am encountering. And to ease up the sadness that I feel, I always try to have a chat with my bestfriend to unload my heartaches and pains. Through this way, the sad feeling that I feel lessens and I somehow get a chance to feel the cuddle though we are just communicating by means of internet.

Sadness is just the effects of toxins in our bloodstream. So those toxins needs to be dumped out and we can do it just by exercising.
Once in an afternoon I was suffering from a kind of causeless sadness. I knew earlier, exercise can remove it. So I started running and jogging and continued upto sweating. After about 20 minutes, I feel to have regained my mood. Aside from these, drinking enough water and eating fruits resists sadness as well.

When i feel sad, i listen to good songs. It helps to overcome my sadness. I avoid being alone, while feeling sad. I mingle with friends and try to forget the sadness. If i can't overcome the sadness and can't control myself, i'll cry. Crying reduces the sadness and gives relaxation to mind

Sadness, well the feeling that I have experience more than anything in my life. Therefore I should always find a way to get rid of it, as I don't like this situation. Therefore I will indulge myself in playing Basketball. I think playing gives me a depression-free situation. I don't know how this is possible but still I do it. The other thing that I do when I feel sad is listening to music.
