Yesterday night while sleeping, i heard a voice and woke up. I got afraid. I came to know that my friend is speaking while sleeping. Is that normal and shouldn't i afraid?

Some people experience this. I learned from my research before that when a person is dreaming electrical impulses from the body moves rapidly and if it triggers the part of the brain that controls the movements or speech it cause sleep walking or sleep talking.

I studied that, when we sleep, our brain is in rest. Then how it controls the body to do something(walking or talking). You said it is normal. Should i take my friend to a doctor or no need?

I sleep talk sometimes but I never consult a doctor. Sleep talking is not a sleep disorder as long as it doesn't cause harmful effects to others.

Yes, it is normal for some people to speak while they are asleep. They might be seeing a dream and their sub-conscious mind may prompt them to speak while they are sleeping.

Yes, it is totally normal. people have many different habits whenever they sleep, like snoring, sleepwalking, sleeping with eyes open (like me-just half open though).. and what your friend has is sleep-talking.

It's really a normal phenomenon. But most time we can't realize that we have spoken during sleeping time. There are some apps which can record the thing you said while sleeping, and you can check wat you said the next morning.
