hi everyone!
I need to help my daughter get her corkscrew stud into her nose and I don't know how! She was supposed to leave it in for 6 weeks to let it heal, and she didn't. It's only been about 3 weeks now and she has been putting straight studs in. Well, she has an infection now and she took out the stud and put some antibiotic ointment net over the hole and tried to put the corkscrew stud in. She has it most of the way in but it has not come out on the inside. Ther still is about. 16th of an inch sticking out from her nose. She can't advance it in. It hurts too, and I gave her ice to deaden it, bit still she cannot advance it.
I'm a nervous wreck and I'm making her nervous. I may have to take her to the doctor to get it placed properly and get the infection cleared up. Can anyone help?
I've watched YouTube videos but they don't help because she can't gt it in or out. I can't check for placement oe anything. She is just trying to push it through and it's not going.

I would say go back to wear she got it peirced they would be able to repeirce it and give her soomething. I know when I got my cartlidge done, I had a lot of issues, and the guy who did it (mind you it was an actually piecing, and tattoo shop), redid it, and got the infection cleared up.

That would be another $40 most likely. She got the corkscrew out and put in a straight one. It took about 3 hours of her trying before she got it out. She couldn't advance it all the way in no matter how hard she tried. The straight one went in fine.

Hi Bun. I don't think she is allergic. Her studs are surgical steel. She got that corkscrew out and she put a straight one in. She worked for 6 hours but couldn't get it to advance all the way in. She had to keep working at it to get it out.

Do not insert anything else till the infection is healed except one thing--take a thin green neem twig and insert a tiny piece in the hole . Apply some antiseptic ointment or neem oil or coconut oil before doing this.It will slide in smoothly. It can be as thin as she can bear. Let the wound heal and after some improvement you can increase the thickness of the neem twig[green and thin]; it will make the hole bigger and it will get accustomed to the foreign object without much distress.
We normally do this and I have personal experience of having done it.
Once it gets accustomed to bigger and bigger neemsticks [obviously as big as the hole needs to be], it is cake walk to put the cockscrew stud in.
Till then, 'do not push it in.'-pun intended.

I wouldn't do anything any more. You may be irritating it more. Let the doctor check it out and get the infection cleared up first. She may have to have it re-pierced again once it is healed if she really wants to keep it. Maybe next time when they say leave it in she should and if it has the same issue leave it in and see a doctor. But if it happens a second time I would suggest to forget about it. Personally I can't see doing that. Hope she feels better soon and the infection clears up soon.

She finally got it out and put a straight stud in. I got mine done, but I'm leaving it alone for 6 weeks before I change mine. I never do anything for myself, so I decided to go with it. I have a pretty emerald colored stone in mine.
I'll check hers tomorrow and see if it cleared up. There was no more pus after she took that first stud out.

First you need to go to doctor. He might tell you to let the infection heal first. It’s scary what infection can do. Since harmful bacteria may get into her brain. Like if you have teeth problem, the bacteria in teeth may travelled to your brain and so is the bacteria from infection which occurring in the nose.

The best advice I can give you on this type of situation is to let the infection heal. After, the infection heals you might want to go and get the nose re-pierced. This is the best advice I can offer anyone in the situation.
I know it will cost to get the nose redone. But, this is the only thing you can do. What can happen is the infection might get worse. I think you might want to take her to the doctor if you think the infection is what is causing the nose ring from going into the nose completely. This is no joke. This is very serious. The infection could spread to her brain through the inside of the nose. I am not trying to scare you, but I am being serious. The can give her some antibiotic to clear up the infection.
Also, you should make sure the next nose ring is at least surgical steel. This is the best next to genuine metal. I hope this helped.

She wears surgical steel. It was just the corkscrew type stud she was having problems with. There was just a little pus around the other stud which was why she took it out to clean it and then put the corkscrew in. But it wouldn't go in. She has the straight one in. If it looks like it is continuing to fester, I will see she goes to the doctor.

I read this discussion the wrong way round it seems, as I have heard from you that your daughter managed to get it sorted, although through a lot of pain, I haven't got a nose ring myself, just an eyebrow piercing, albeit no longer in, both ears pierced and my inner ear pierced.

Well, I was going to suggest taking her back to the place it was done and they probably would have helped her out for free. most places are pretty good on the after care and would nnot charge you. Anyway, it looks like you got it all figured out. Good on you Pq for doing something for yourself. I love the little studs for the notse.

Hi ! I can't admire girls having like that , i don't understand why place it in nose . That must be very painful and what about if having colds , how to blow nose then ? Ahhh art and creativity differs in each person. I want to know what is the significance of that placing earrings in nose , might there are some significance of it ? I am respecting your child's art and creativity.
