In the 25 yrs I've been in the work force I've learned one very important thing, Sandwhiches don't cut it. A bagged lunch of sandwhich & chips just isn't enough for me on the typical workday, I want something hot. That also means I've had a LOT of microwave meals & am always trying new ones. Usually when I spot something on the store shelves & decide to try it out I end up disapointed, especially when it comes to "mexican" food. Yesterday however was a pleasant suprise. I've stumbled on a brank called Corky's & for the last few months I've been enjoying the barbecue meals they offer ( it was all they offered BTW ). Earlier this week I saw they had a new produce, chili & tomales & picked one up. When I finally got to eat it, expecting it to be the same bland mush most companies call a frozen mexican dinner, I was suprised. It actually tasted good. Sure they cost a little more than most of the other frozen dinner brands but at least it doesn't taste like flavored styrophome. Hopefully they'll offer a few more selections soon. So far the Corkys brand's impressing me.

I am the same, I couldn't do the whole bagged lunch thing since I was about 15. Ever since then I have been eating various fast food items for lunch each day and have had no health issues, am not overweight and feel fine. I think the key is balance, as I usually take a multivitamin, have a half litre of milk and get exercise to and from work and occasionally while there. The Corky brand frozen Mexican dinners sound intredasting too. I hope to see them on the shelves here soon.

I understand that, a hard worker needs more to give one energy after working hard. I used to send my ex a big meal everyday. That he had to heat tin microwave,

Most of our dinners that would be suitable for a work lunch never make it off the table so there's not often home cooking to take to work.

I used to eat a lot of frozen dinners and once I bought a Marie Callender pot roast dinner that was one sale, otherwise I could not have afforded it. I thought I would get roast beef but it was formed meat swimming in greasy gravy and nearly inedible. So I know how nice it is to be surprised by a good frozen dinner. I like Mexican, too--or what we Americans call Mexican. I found a good brand years ago and rediscovered it when I moved where I am now. Naturally, they have discontinued it! Now that I'm a vegetarian I find it difficult to find frozen dinners that meet my requirements and when they do, they aren't very tasty. The good news is that I'm finally losing weight since eating is no longer very pleasurable. I can't believe how much money people spend on lunches! When I was working, everyone complained how hard it was to make ends meet but went out everyday and spent $5-10 on lunch while I ate my packed lunch that cost me about a dollar. Taking your own lunch is smart and often more nutritious. I'm glad you found a brand you liked!

I'd much rather take my lunch IF I can find stuff worth eating. I could never go vegitarian. I'm a purebread carnivoure & LIKE to eat. I've gone to places where they had one of those "You can't possibly eat all this" meals & asked for desert afterwords. "A 5lb hamburger? Can I get fries , fried mushrooms & a shake with that?"

Never heard of that brand but I'm glad you discovered it and like it, I used to eat lots of TV dinners too but not anymore. We have a cafeteria at work were we can eat and I usually just by a bowl of soup or chile for a buck twenty and that'll get me through the day, but we usually eat an early dinner too so I don't like to eat a big lunch also

Lunch is at 11:30 & dinner at 6. Also because my my particular blood sugar problems I pretty much HAVE to keep the food pouring in. It'd be nice if we had a cafteteria. As it is we have some vending/slot machines ( put your money in & HOPE you get something out ) with what I have a hard time clasifying as food in them & 6 microwaves to service a couple hundred people. This place wasn't designed for this large a staff or output.
