Well I did not see this coming!
I can't believe myLot is no longer going to be a paying site. Its not the main reason I stay here but it is a factor for why I have. I think the site will lose a lot of users now. I will still be around, somewhere, some time... but definetely not all day like I used to be.
By the way this weird thing keeps popping up and trying to download. Admin should fix that. I keep cancelling it but it keeps popping up.
SAD DAY FOR MYLOT!

Personally I think people have had it good for a long time. Most of the discussions are/were drivel and frankly I couldn't see how it could be sustained. Money, Money, Money, must be funny, in a rich man's world.

I agree. With as much traffic as this site gets? It could be maintained as stil paying. They did it for 7 years.

Despite the previous feedback about against mylot becoming a social networking site, the ungrateful admin simply went ahead with it.
If we all recall clearly, NOTHING was mentioned about taking away the earnings and this is how mylot show their gratitude to their members who made it to what it is today. Now they prefer to pay the geek who is a Suckerburg wannabe from the Swamps.
I felt that mylot should have mentioned that during the previous announcement about doing away the payment of posts and NOT give members a 24 hour notice. It is not a matter of a few cents but the principle behind it. I am sure there are members who are caught where they are a few cents short to min. payout and VERY DESPICABLY UNFAIR when the system was literally TOO ERRATIC to post and EARN!!!!!!

I was a few dollars short and thought. It's cold out again I should stick my nose on mylot and earn a few cents tward my pay out. I'm bummed now seeing these posts that my earnings are lost.

Happy days are here again! MyLot has been 'recaptured' by the original owners and, as of August 2015, have restarted the earnings program. There's more information here:

Yes its a sad decision for users that need that extra $10 each month. Also I think it is not impossible to keep the site paying if they wanted to. They apparently, just don't want to.

@echoforever But you know I have always looked at the internet as my "entertainment" and doing various sites like this help me justify my time online that atleast I was earning something persay twards my internet bill or whatever.

I too was surprised...I only made pay out every few months but it was a fun place and the few dollars while not a lot were kind of fun too.
It will be very interesting to see how many are still here after the change...I always thought reading from people all over the world was fascinating, but I have to agree it was obvious some were here just to earn money.

I think it is true, even those like me and others who say they come here for interaction.. it is going to be true, or was, that they were also here to earn a bit.

Hi Echo....No, no one saw this coming. We new about the new site but not the money part. I wish they would have told us at least in their last alert a month ago. I won't be here much at all anymore...I'm just too disappointed in the whole thing. Did you get my PM back to you? I gave you the link to the alert in case you didn't get it.......I understood that some people didn't receive it.

Yes it sad, but if mylot is going to stop paying why pay only members who have $5 or more in their accounts? This is what I see as unfair, 'cause after all we earned that money.
I was getting that weird pop-up yesterday asking me to download something don't accept it, it's probably a virus, malware or something to steal your earnings. This isn't the first time strange pop-ups have occurred on this website. Today I'm getting some type of weird code with scroll bars at the top of the mylot page.

There probably won't be as many post so I can see not being on here as long as I used to. Only the serious who have enjoyed talking to others and getting information will stay.

Luckily this was not forever and the site once again eventually became a paying site. I have to say, if it stopped paying now, I would not be here even if I am not only here for the money either. But without the pay incentive, it would not be worth it personally.
