Since hardly any of the old gang visits mylot anymore, I don't come either. It's just not as fun. But several people have told me they came here to see if I was okay after the tornado in Oklahoma this week. I live near the area hit. So in case those of you who don't have my e-mail address were wondering, I am okay. It hit about two miles away from us. Some people in our church lost their homes, but they all survived. I just got my internet access today so I'm taking the time to post this now. Thanks for all the concern!

Hi, Ambie Pam - good to hear you are OK - material things can be replaced most times, but people are not so easy.
I am not used to tornados, as our climate is very different. It can be extremely cold in winter and very warm in summer. Maybe the Norwegian mountains protect us from the worst winds, and the warm Golf-stream outside Norway keeps us a bit warmer than Siberia. Every place has its pros and cons but somehow we get used to it..

I'm glad that you are safe and didn't sustain any damage but you must know several people who were not so lucky. The pictures of the devastation were all over our British newspapers and I felt so sorry for those who lost everything and had their lives turned upside down.

Several families in our church lost their homes. Our youth minister was at home with two of his children. When the tornado passes they walked out of their closet and found that the closet was the only thing left standing in the house. We've all gotten together to get everyone the things they need. A couple people offered their homes to stay in. A couple families just had roof damage and we've already gone over to repair it. But the scope of the carnage is just astonishing.

It is good to hear that the Tornado did not hit you and you are safe. Hope you always remain at a safe distance from such eventualities.
