what is the best free email service / myLot

I hate the new yahoo. So can anyone tell me of a great free email sevice there is? Is is one you have used for a long time? Is there any email that is as good as the old yahoo email service?

I think Gmail.com is the best because it lets me create filters to delete junk mail that might be missed by the spam catcher and it lets me create folders to organize incoming emails I want to keeep.
