Hi rafan, I understand some health issues can cause loss of appetite so I hope you have explored the possibility with a health professional. Also some medications can effect appetite. Even stress or depression can put our bodies off balance. Personally I think it is important to like what we eat. Eating should also be a pleasurable experience so that we frequent it. Like eating socially with others or in private, it should be good for us. I find it can be a time out for me where I can think about stuff, find some calm time while I eat. It is relaxing. Since it so good I will naturally go back to it. Quality time with quality food. Hope that helps a little.

@rafan414 Your welcome, I'm so happy if I could be a little helpful. I hope you understand the concern for you because I don't know you well. You could have a medical issue and my advice for you might not be correct. I am glad that is not the case since you are explaining it is not. Please do not be sad about any comment, generally people want to help but not sure what kind of help is best. Understand, I have a different point of view. I need to push myself away from the food because it is too good. I have bought recently some very expensive nuts which I enjoy but if I do not try to control myself would eat too many. So you see it is the opposite. It is ok to want to change our bodies specially if it is healthy but I think if people are tall, short, fat, skinny or any other characteristic, this is fine as long as they like themselves. Fat is beautiful, so is tall super, so is short cool, so is skinny neat. You understand me? What snack food do you really like the most without feeling you need to finish but just like snacking on? Do you always have it easily available?

You need to work physically and mentally to exhaust your energy. Once you lose your energy, you would require food to replenish it. It would be better if you go to a Doctor so that he could prescribed some medicines and some blood tests etc. to ascertain if you are not suffering from some medical problem.

@rafan414 - I agree with the advice given by our friend bluedoll. You should try those snacks which makes you crave for them. Try to take some fruits which you like.

@dpk262006 It is difficult for me to understand how it feels not to want food when I am the opposite but I remember a time when I didn't want to eat - you get there from strict diets. Been there?

I agree with @Magnolia74 that what others said doesn't really matter. Do you know since when you started to lose your appetite? I remember when I was under pressure, with my studies or work, I lost my appetite. Even though I was hungry, I just didn't feel like eating anything, but just drank some liquid. Do you think you are stressed? Besides drinking tea, can you drink juice instead? I think juice is healthier and nutritious too. Instead of normal rice food, can you think of other food that you might like to eat? salad? vegetables? Also, I think it's fine to go to gym to do some exercises even if you are skinny. Exercise will make you healthier. Have you tried yoga or meditation? Perhaps it helps you to be calm and regain your appetite? Hope you will feel better. No matter how you look, you are still YOU! Happy wedding to you too!

I think the first you should do is to fall in love with eating. And it is a slow process. You can't eat too much at the beginning, like 4 eggs a day, which is unwise because it will make you don't want to eat more.

@Magnolia74 Doesn't everyone have a "medical condition"? It is difficult to know sometimes when to go to the doctor and when it is not actually necessary. For example, this summer I contracted poison ivy and thought I would look after it myself but ended up going to the doctor where I was prescribed medication. like what you said :-)

@rafan414 ... don't worry about what other people say about how you look. It doesn't matter whether you are skinny or fat, as long as you are healthy. I think you need to sort out why you lost your appetite to begin with, and the only person who can help you figure that out is a doctor. It's difficult to eat when you are not hungry so I guess you have to find out the reason of your loss of appetite, it could be a medical condition that's causing it.
