I haven't read it yet but I have seen it on sale a fer times and I've wanted to read it since I heard about it, so I may break down and buy it soon. I know that Max Brooks was a writer for SNL and he was on a History Channel program about zombies this Halloween that I watched.

I first saw that book in the bookstore several months ago and I thought it looked interesting. The author had obviously given a lot of thought to zombies. The only reason I didn't get it was because I couldn't justify the cost (I don't have much money to be frivolous with).
One day, I checked my email to find a message from Borders that mentioned a new book by Max Brooks called World War Z. It was a novel written in an interview style--an oral history of the zombie war.
So it was that, less than 12 hours after discovering this book's existence, I had it in my hands.
I would HIGHLY recommend it. It reads well and you should be able to identify all the famous people in it (he never calls them by name, probably to avoid lawsuits).
Interesting side note: Brad Pitt's movie company won a bidding war to obtain the rights to make a movie from World War Z.
I can't wait!

Yep, I've heard about that book. I'm planning on getting it after I finish this book first. I too wasn't sure about the cost but decided to get it anyways. I didn't know about Brad Pitts company getting the rights though. I do hope it becomes a movie!

It's written in away that is serious but is funny as well. A friend told me about it and I found it in the humor section of the bookstore.
