I have the worse luck with neighbors.

I'm sure some of you remember when we had the neighbor downstairs that had his speakers against the wall and cranked his base so loud every night that my pictures on the wall vibrated . Then we had the crazy chick next door that screamed outside her door all the time and had the ambulance and cops there constantly, well those people finally left, I don't know if they got evicted or just moved out on their own. Now for over a year we have this chick living below that has 3 screaming kids (in a 1 bedroom) and a boyfriend or husband what ever he is . They don't work and I'm not even sure if he lives there or if he's just comes to hang out at times...one day you see him then not for weeks. So for the last couple weeks there has been so much freaking noise from downstairs that I can't even get a good nights sleep anymore. They all must sleep all day and then at night the monsters wake up screaming and bouncing of the walls. The 3 kids sleep in the bedroom so they right under us and every night starting around 10 or so all hell brakes loose to the point were I have to move to the living room to get any sleep . Sconibear stomped on the ceiling the other night but it didn't seem to do much good, I don't even know if the parents are home or if they leave the brats locked up in the bedroom so they can roam the hood. So finally today after having to sleep in the living room twice this week i complaint to the office, I do feel bad but if I don't do something it won't get better. These are not the kind of people you want to knock on their door to try to be neighborly and just ask if they could be a little quieter. I don't know what the office will do, hopefully they put a note on the door saying something like "We had a few noise complaints so could you please keep the noise down some especially after 10pm", they said they won't mention who complaint but I'm not counting on that so say a little prayer for me so I won't get my butt kicked by some big chick

when they move out maybe you can convince the landlords to have the place blessed. Might prevent the devil spawns from inhabiting..

I've got a drunk (but still very nice) lady downstaris who gets drunk and decides her living room is a karaoke stage I probably wouldn't mind is she could actually sing. Every so often though she has a loud, obnoxious neanderthal of a boyfriend who even when sober, sounds like a loud, drunk Sylvester Stallone. He has been ejected from the property several times, but he always finds his way back. My girlfriend, @fruitcakeliz , though, lol, just got rid of a real doozy of a neighbor. She was a freaking loon. Seriously. You couldn't write a better dysfunctional character for a trashy movie if you tried.

OMG.....are you SURE you don't live in the same building as me?? j/k as @xfahctor said, i just finally got rid of a super crazy neighbor (thank GAWD) ....a la cops here SO many times, screaming/stomping yelling constantly downstairs.....lots of random people in and out, verbally abusive towards me on multiple occasions, to the point of me having anxiety issues about even being out side .........i couldn't even leave to go to work with out making sure she was not out there letting her dog out....because i didn't want to have a confrontation/conversation with her. but she has been evicted now.....and left SO much crap behind...(clothes, furniture, food stuff, and junk and trash.....).....they legally have to leave her access for belongings another couple weeks.....but i am SO glad she is gone. I actually feel bad for the people the next town over where i hear she moved......hope she isn't your new neighbor.........but at least she isn't mine any more!!! you have my deepest sympathy @missybear !

I have both good and bad neighbours. Actually I have one bad neighbour, who is self centred having no thought for others. Noise could be an issue that needs dealing.Hope you will use all the tools at your disposal to handle the situation.

Noisy neighbors stink. I feel bad for you. And it does not sound like a good situation. They might be a nasty couple for all you know. It is good you complained, but what else could you do. And murder is against the law, so thats out. I just had to throw that in there. I hope for your sake they leave.

@missybear I hope that situation gets fixed for you. I live in NYC and I know what noise is, but enough is enough I say.

You could always call the police and say that you're concerned because the kids are being extremely loud and there doesn't seem to be an adult supervising them. We ended up helping our property manager evict the last set of tenants that lived in the unit next to ours. They started off on the wrong foot by moving in at 3 AM. The first thing they unloaded was the stereo, which of course they had to turn up so everybody in the complex could hear the bass. It was a constant problem and the manager told us the best thing we could do would be to call the police every time they were an issue, because they would have all of the reports. Documenting ongoing issues helps build a case, and it helps if you have a manger that doesn't want to take action. I have to wonder if it's even legal for there to be that many occupants in a one bedroom apartment. In my area, we're limited to two people per room.

that's what I was told too, keep calling the police and they will have to let management know and then if they get too many complaints they get evicted, I just hate calling the police sometimes I'm worried they will tell them who called and then they will whoop my butt
