When I was shopping I saw a lot of Halloween and Christmas Items

I could not believe that some stores already have their Halloween and Christmas items on the shelves already. It seems the stores put them out earlier and earlier every year. Out of four stores I was in three had those Holiday items on their shelves. Has anyone else noticed this in the stores they go to? It's like 2 months to Halloween and 4 months to Christmas so what's up with that?

lol I saw no turkeys out yet, I wonder why they are skipping Thanksgiving items at this time.

I guess they have not even thought of Thanksgiving for some reason, Sparks. Funny when you think about it.

It has not been noticed by me as yet Marcy. But I am sure it will be there the next time I go to the store, I will look for them. I like the holiday stuff not that I ever buy much though.

I don't buy much in the way of Holiday items either, last year I made two new Christmas wreaths to hang out on the front porch. I buy used plain wreaths and differents Christmas items there also and make my own wreaths so they are one of a kind.

I agree, this is too soon. Where I live the kids don't even go back to school until next month. It's all about getting us to spend as much money as we can and as long as we can.

Yep, it is all about the stores making a profit. I personally don't like Halloween and Christmas items to be out this early and then on top of that to make the mistake of ignoring Thanksgiving. Dang them. lol

don't think they really make that money at New Year's so to them it is no big deal. So I guess that Thanksgiving and New Year's are not as popular Holidays as Halloween and Christmas.

@Marcyaz Guess the merchants feel there is less money to be made for Thanksgiving than Halloween & Christmas. Hmmm Looks like poor "New Year's" is out the window too. LOL

I guess they keep hoping people will get the hint, shop early and not get caught up in the holiday crowds...

Madison, Maybe that is why they put the items out early so people will shop early and then shop again later in the season.

@rosekiss How true it is way to early for putting those Holiday items out. I don't think we have a hope in the world of the stores not putting the items out at this time of year. Thank you and you have a good day also.

I haven't seen any yet, and I hope i don't for awhile. It is nothing but commercialism and getting worse every year. Where I lieve, they put Christmas stuff and Halloween sutff out in September, which as far as i am concerned is way to early for both. I just hope that one of these years they realize that it is just to early for that stuff and not put it out. Have a great day.

That happens here as well. I don't really know why. Maybe to give people a massive head start before the actually time? No idea.

Personally I don't like seeing Holiday items on shelves that early and I would not buy them at that time. @VivaLaDani13

That is a good thing in your area then although I still think it is too early to put out Halloween candy.

They were putting up school supplies while we were looking for wading pools. It is ridiculous how much they hurry things along.

I think the new name of the game is Sell, Sell, Sell as the stores are always hurrying things along it seems like.

Yep - it's beginning to come out here too! Well one craft store I noticed already has their autumn stuff off at 40%. Are they kidding me? Summer isn't even over! I love these holidays and don't mind seeing stuff, but then we get a burn out by the time the holidays do come - that's what I don't like!

Much, I have also noticed a of their autumn things on sale but by the time the Holiday comes around we are burned out by just looking at the items for that Holiday.

@Marcyaz It's takes away from our excitement about the holidays, doesn't it? And also by the time you are ready to actually buy any holiday stuff, most of the good stuff is already gone!

Yep so you know how the Holiday items are put out already in July. So early, I guess there are people who like to shop early in the year and not have to contend with people in the stores.

I havent noticed anything like that quite yet. But I know they will be putting Halloween things on the shelves come this September. I noticed also that every year they push these holidays sooner and sooner.

@Marcyaz I am sure I will find things on shelves. I don't bother worrying about the holidays until September is over. Then I start making my lists.

It is utterly ridiculous. I work for a grocery store and we have the candies go up WAY before they need to only for it hardly even been picked through or bought. We get so much of the stuff in and have to reduce it after the holiday is over.

It is rediculous for the grocery stores to have the candies go way up and then after the Holiday they have big markdowns on the candy.
