About Bella

About 7 years ago, I met Bella. She is a chocolate brown dachshund. She was given to me by a relative who said she was unmanageable and if I didn't take her, she was going to the pound. Of course I immediately said I would take her.
I found out later that she had been abused by 'said' relative. I just couldn't understand how anyone could abuse such a sweet and loving dog. It made me closer to her as I wanted to protect her.
Bella came to me during a really dark time in my life. I was very sick, had just gotten out of the hospital and had lost my job. To say that I was depressed is putting it mildly. Her and I bonded instantly and I have never had any problems with her at all. If anything, she is spoiled a little too much.
To this day, I don't understand how anyone can abuse animals and for it to be a family member makes it even worse. I'm so glad that Bella came into my life as I couldn't imagine it without her.

Aw, Simone. I can totally relate to this. Although I got my chihuahua before I lost my job, she's certainly helped me get through the dark times.
Animals are truly amazing creatures, aren't they? Better than a lot of people, that is for sure!
