Daily Challenge: Day 1

So, I'm going to try out a little game or challenge for us all. Everyday I will ask a question... some will be fun and others may be hard. Some may be silly and other educational. I will try hard not to repeat them but if you catch a repeat let me know.... or just let it go. My answer will always be after the question because it wouldn't be fair I didn't answer too. Rules are simple: 1. Answer the question that is asked in any way you want... 2.Read other people's answers. 3.Comment on what catches your interest. 4. Smile, Laugh, Share, Learn.... Today's Question: Where do you find your creativity? My Answer: Life is often a place where I find inspiration for all areas of my life: writing, my art, even in how to live (or how NOT to live in some cases) Hardships often find their answers in something I write. My feelings find their way into my art. Watching others teaches me about.

@PhredWreck Hands you a quarter to cover the charges. I'm not much of a thinker, so it might be a while. Hands you a dollar instead.

I used to write a lot of poetry and it was during my high school days, so much of it reflected during those times. For my stories, I get inspiration from different books or movies that really moved me. Love and relationships interest me, so I like to write about that.

I did a lot more poetry when I was younger. I miss it some days but just can't get the rhythm done anymore.

I find my creativity in life. Sometimes its health, sometimes its TV, sometimes its my family, and sometimes its just being in my head too much. I write what comes to me through these areas. I used to journal and found it very good and helped me remember what happened and when. But, thought it was good for me the computer took its place.

@TLChimes -- I tend to get too wrapped up in life to remember to journal.

I try to journal but I forget that I'm trying to do it and so I don't. I love the computer because it is easier to stay on top of since I'm on it always anyway.

Where do I find my creativity? I think I know this one . Right inside my brain. There is a small part there that just keeps churning, and churning and before I know it there will be a design for me to work on.

Perfect. DO you ever have to work at it or push your brain to come up with something?

Well now. Lets see. I get some of my creativity from movies and music. I get inspired with them. So when I write I have something to write about. I also find some creativity in life itself. With people. Watching and listening.

When a book or movie doesn't go the way my writer's mind thinks it should. I rewrite it so it does as practice for the writing I really want to do.

@inertia4 I mean that I tell the story in a different way, not the way they told it but how I would have told it... does that make more sense?

@TLChimes I never re-write anything from anyone. Even for practice. But I get my creative juices flowing at those times. And it's not like a faucet. It comes in dribs and drabs.

I guess most of it is learned. There wasn't much encouragement to be creative in my family when I was growing up. A few examples of my creativity, though: I made a vest from a button front skirt and used another skirt for fringe on the back of the vest; I designed some wash cloths based on quilt square patterns, I made a winter coat from blue jeans.

I have no creativity, except for puns, and they are not always appreciated. I do my best to include a spoonerism difficult to detect in any scientific article I write : they will perhaps become an interesting research subject for a student in the future.

I love puns. Shhh don't tell though. I learn better if there is a bit of fun to the subject so maybe some future student will learn more because of your use of little punny additions.

I love puns too. In fact I have a Facebook friend who posts "the pun of the day" I love reading them, but due to my schedule, I haven't seen any for a while.

I get mine from personal experiences, observations and during my silent moments when I only look up on the ceiling or at my laptop/ tablet screen or on cold walls thinking and trying to figure out something from other peoples perspective

It's in the thing I like to call a brain. Sometimes I sit and think and it sounds good so I will write it or make it or talk to people about it. That is why sometimes I got nothin'. My brain is so full that sometimes nothing good and creative can come out of there and I just don't care either.

@TLChimes Sometimes I hear something that makes me think. I never have anything to write with at the time so I forget a lot. That is the reason I haven't started many discussions. When I think of a good one, I am in bed or unable to get on the computer to post it.

@fufurinha I bet you have something that you do that you don't even realize is creative. I like to color in an adult coloring book that I got a few months ago. I was waiting at an appointment for my son and someone remarked that I used the colors in a creative way. I was surprised because I was just doing it in a way I liked. Maybe you do something just your way but other people think it is creative.

Creativity is actually something I've been battling with for a while now. I carry a camera everywhere I go, but I haven't been too happy with most of the photos I've been taking lately, and the writing I've been doing hasn't been particularly creative either.

Maybe set them both down for a small time and view the world differently, then pick them up again. Don't wait too long though because then they get left behind.

@TLChimes I'd rather not do that. I'd feel lost without my camera. As for writing, I'm hoping that by pushing myself to come up with at least one new idea for a MyLot discussion every day, I'll finally start coming up with bigger ideas again. If I miss one day it's like giving myself permission to miss more.

One of the places I find my creativity in reflecting on my own past and thinking about how I might have done things differently. The time I spend near the sea also inspires my creativity. And did I mention coffee,

Honestly, I feel like I used to be very creative. Now it seems for the past few years I've sort of had "creativity block." Wish I could find it and give a good answer to this question :-/

Hmmm what changed that put a block in the way. With me, I got really busy being the mom of a medically fragile child so everything else got lost. I'm only just finding it again.

We keep at it, don't we. Even when I don't have a lot of creativity I try to do something productive. Sometimes if I just start, the rest works out better than I expected. I have a little office area set up in the Kitchen. It's my hang out.

they come when I get sad or happy it is hard to find that creativity in daily activity as I see that is something usual but most of the time that creativity comes when I passed my PMS

PMS can ruin everyone's creativity. All I want is rest and for it to go away. Feelings often help people be creative.

I don't really know how to answer this. I would like go say I find it in cooking. But I haven't really branched out that much from recipes I find on food blogs. I feel I don't know enough sometimes to make my own recipes. I used to write but I don't really anymore. So I can't really say that. So I guess my answer is that I don't know.

I draw on experience and play with words. It isn't a case of having one idea but putting ideas together like bricks to build a house of ideas

" putting ideas together like bricks to build a house of ideas" I love that line. I have always thought of my ideas as flowers in a garden. Pretty by themselves but beautiful when put together.
