Around 6 months ago, my fiance and I looked at our first wedding venue and fell in love almost instantly. Having worked in a couple of hotels when younger, I had seen what a few places had to offer but this rustic chic yet traditional barn was league's above what either of us could have imagined.
We began our tour by the bar, where chesterfield armchairs sat proudly by a burning log fire, and secluded alcoves provided a serenity away from the diners. We then walked through the meal and reception area, with wooden beams decorated with draped fabrics and fairy lights spotlighting the grand room, it's bare wall and vintage-style tables and chairs. Finally through grand glass doors we came to the ceremony space, which also had a log fire and a simplistic elegance. A piano certified the status of the space and hidden away in the corner was a door leading to a beautiful bridal room...the icing on top of the cake. We then sat with the events manager and went through every detail, us expressing our interest and her filling out a proposal form incorporating all of our ideas, dreams and hopes.
That same week, we put down our deposit, booked our registrar and began planning our wedding day, which I hope to share with you all over the course of the year!
So, what's your dream wedding venue?

Simple is often the most beautiful, and you sound very wise. A lot of modern couples take out loans or are still paying for their wedding for years to come, but we are only having what we can afford so not to begin our married life in debt. :)

Sounds beautiful and you seem really excited. I haven't really thought about my dream wedding venue perhaps because I still have years before it will happen and more important things to think of until then. I don't think I'm one of those people that will plan for ages and spend a fortune and go crazy over a wedding. I think I would like a super simple vegan wedding. Maybe if would be on the beach and I'd walk down the aisle in my bare feet, the waves would be gently crashing against the shore with the wind gently blowing as well. All the food would be vegan. It would be a small family and close friends wedding. The most important things as with any wedding would be love: love for my finacé soon to be husband, love for family, love for friends, love for nature, love of freedom, love of food and just love in general. I don't really have any clue though I'm too young to be thinking about these sorts of things.

We already celebrated our 16th wedding anniversary and we still smile when we remember our wedding day. It was just a simple but memorable day for us. I know that you will be the happiest couple on that day
