I was adopted on my first birthday. Almost two years ago, I found my birth family. I discovered that I have 5 older brothers and a younger sister. Since I grew up with just one younger brother, it was a big shock. Unfortunately my birth mother died. But I met my birth father and he just passed away May 2nd. I am so glad to have met them. My sister and I are getting together Saturday to celebrate our 2nd sisterversary.

That's awesome! I've placed two children up for adoption. I have been fortunate enough to keep in contact with the families, especially since I already have two others at home. Haven't been able to get them all together yet, but am excited for the day when I'll have all four of them in a picture. My life will be complete

I'm glad that you were able to stay in contact with them. I'm so thankful that you and my parents chose adoption rather than choosing abortion.

@wamimsauthor It was very hard for me. I placed my first, kept my second, placed my third, and kept my fourth. So explaining to my second on my decision for placing my third was very hard. I wish you the best!

The most life changing event was when me and my whole family had to move from my childhood home due to some bad people. It change my life, and the life of all my family. It was not a good change.

That is awesome that you get to have a sister. A life event that happen to me was being shot in the leg by my estranged husband about 9 years ago. I am not disabled. If I am walking for awhile I need to take my cane. Or something to hang on to. As my leg will stiffen causing me to walk on ball of my foot. I normally walk on the ball of my foot. The longer I am on it. The more pain I have. The more stiffness occurs.

My biggest life changing event has to be getting divorced. My husband met someone else and divorced me. It sent me into a huge tailspin and for three years I swear I was a zombie, just existing. Then I had a sacred stone reading and that started big changes in my life. I opened up spiritually and really got to know myself and love myself. I started doing things I wanted to do and things I never even thought about before. Opening up spiritually and not stifling any part of me has been the best thing for me. I recently even went to my ex and thanked him for divorcing me. I am so much happier now. My ex was also adopted and during our marraige we found his birth parents and what a gift that has been to him. And it has helped answered some questions we had about our daughter. I laugh at how much my ex is like his birth dad. They have a great relationship now. And he also has some new found brothers and sisters and he is so thrilled to know them.

I'm sorry about you having to go through a divorce. I have been down that road myself and it's not fun. But I was the one who made the decision, so I guess that makes it a bit easier. I'm glad he found his birth family too. :)

I had a much better life than I would have had if I hadn't been adopted. That is for sure.

How wonderful for you! I guess I would have to say that a life changing event for me has been to have rheumatoid arthritis and not being able to do things I used to do.

A devastating car wreck in 1988. It really made me rethink what really was important in my life
