What do you feel about social media sites?

Nowadays, social media has taken a huge section of people under its grip. There are people whose lives revolve around Facebook and many other social media sites. Though I am no one to judge why people love to remain glued for hours after hours on the sites like Facebook, I can only present my reasoning. I still remember the day when my nephew opened my account on Facebook quite insistently as I was not at all keen to join and so I did not even take any kind of interest in peeping into it for quite a few months. Astonishingly, it grabbed my attention when I started writing for various writing sites. I needed to market my write-ups and certainly what could be better than the social media sites which allow the known, not so known and unknown people to read what one shares. I can say, I started logging in to Facebook especially because of my selfish motive. Thereafter, I started searching for my school and college friends, my writing pals and the other dear ones of my life. It is quite interesting to be in touch with all of my loved ones in almost one go. My reasoning goes a step further. Basically, there are various posts on Facebook which inspires me to write different posts. Quotes, inspirational stories, memories and awakening issues all draw my attention and give me a food for thought which later takes the shape of an article. So, these social media sites are at least very helpful for my writing career. Great! I enjoy it.
