What is it that draws you to a certain Discussion?

Is it the person who posted it?
Do you feel it will be a simple answer?
Or is the subject matter something you can relate to?
I for one choose all three, and feel it will make the discussion interesting by many others also contributing to it which in the long run works out for all of us.

I'm not sure I have a formula for searching for discussions. I have to admit there are a number of people that I became friends with here years ago that I am always searching for their discussions. But I have made some new friends too who make me think so I look for them too. I'm still trying to get used to the new format. As I have said before old dogs learn new tricks slowly.
Some titles can be deceiving. One particular friend has a habit of using a play on words in the title to get your attention but once you read the post it is not what you thought it was going to be. I love that. She is very creative.
I will also look for topics that I can relate too but I don't limit myself to these. Sometimes I will pick a discussion that has taken a view opposite of what I would pick hoping that we can turn it into a proper discussion. Sometimes it works and some times it doesn't. If it looks like it is going to deteriorate into an argument I walk away.

@savak03..I think we all look for friends first and then silly topics..newbies are getting better at discussions so i help them as much as i can.
I think i know which friend you are talking about!

It depends on the day.
I usually go to suggestions first and do those. Which that would be friends.
After that, I look through the list of posted discussions and see what leaps out at me. That could be a combo of who posted and the topic.
After that, I go to people and check out friends activity and may check out discussions based on those. But, again, I may not.
I am wishy-washy that way.
Mood is everything.

I think that's a good description of what I do (and I failed to analyse it as well as you have here!). I also find that I become 'jaded' (or tired) when I've spent a while going through titles and need a break! What interested me at the beginning is not the same as what's going to interest me enough after an hour at it!

@Rosekitty It may change a little bit as time goes on and I have more time to be here. But, I may be used to my routine and stick with it.

My main reason for responding to discussions, is not only the title, but the body of the discussion. If it is interesting and I can give feedback, then I will respond, but if I can't then I will just move on to another discussion. I do also respond to my friends discussions as well.

@Rosekitty Nope, never thought that at all. It is an interesting title and discussion and I just had to respond. You post any discussion you want and if it isnteresting, then I will respond to it.

I respond to friends and to people who have been active on my posts. I know some people who are always interesting to me. I look for topics that I can contribute to as well. You will not find me running around saying "nice post".

I will see how the topic related and how can I put down my contribution on the same. I am an old member so if any familiar faces started the topic I give special interest to that topic for sure. I do this automatically, may be due to the nostalgia making me this way.

Most times, it is the subject matter that I can relate to. Then it is the other two.

@Rosekitty Here, Let me make it really simple.... Go to the nearest mirror, look into it and you will see a prime example of why I choose certain discussions.

I read the title of the discussion, if it catches my interest, then I will open and read it. It doesn't matter who the author is. If I have something to say to it after I read it, I will like and respond.
However, they are a few I interact with that I will read all their discussions, and try to comment on them.

There are a few here whose discussions I look forward to. I have no hard and fast rule otherwise. If I can comment on any discussion that is how I go about choosing.

@allknowing I do too look for certain ones first and then go from there but if they suggest something to me, then they get posted to first.
