Question: When was the last time you worked out? Answer: Um... today if you count nearly 5 hours walking at the Zoo pushing the 8 year old in his chair. Other than that.... I work out just by doing not in any set way. I don't have the extra energy or strength to add more working out to my days.

Does chasing my 4 year old around count as working out? Or moving furniture around every week because I am bored with the way it is? Or how about walking around walmart everyday because I have nothing better to do? If none of those count then no, I dont exercise lol. I think I would have more success at it if I had someone to walk with or go to a gym.

Actually.... there was a study out years ago (That I will always say was true) that talked about how chasing little ones, and the daily care giving (lifting, chasing, park play, walking to school and so on) can count as exercise. Yep. Best thing I ever heard as a young mom... that and the advice my daddy gave me "feed the end that screams, diaper the end that stinks and hug the parts in the middle."

@hovis0711 My weight came from the medications I was (am) on so the best I could hope for is maintaining and not adding to it.

@TLChimes I like that little saying. Its cute. And I wish it did count lol. But, obviously, it doesnt or I would see a change in weight.

I worked out today by cleaning the house. Then, I push mowed the lawn for over two hours. When I was finished I was really hot and sweaty, so I went in the pool for a bit and did some swimming, so yeah, I think I got my workout for the day.

A swim is a great reward for a day of working in the heat.

@TLChimes The thing that I like best about it is not only is it a great reward, but it is also great exercise, even though you don't think of it as exercise, and that kind of exercise is the best kind, because you want to keep doing it.

I do small work outs based on my limitations. I can't run or power walk.

Most of what I do is because of my son's needs. He rides a special bike for his therapy but I have to walk behind it to keep him safe. I carry him a lot because his legs don't work really well... he is almost 4'5" and 60 pounds. It is his limitations that force me to "work out" I wouldn't if I didn't have to.

I worked out today by walking around the park and across the bridge there. It was a lot of fun and I felt like a good workout.

I love long walks.... well nice long walks... not the kind that are hurried or forced but ones when you can just think and be.

I did go on the treadmill for 30 min a couple of weeks ago. I get in the moods of "Hey I want to lose weight. I'm going to work out!" Then I get all lazy and realize I like food more... :sigh: It's an ongoing battle.

That is just great! When was the last time I worked out? I used to go to the YMCA in 2009-2010. I am so out of shape. I have arthritis in one hip and some days I can't get around at all. Doc won't give me anything for the pain either when really erks me. I need a walking buddy. Maybe I could get Lambie to come over and take my trash out for me. Haha
