Do You Have Any Hobbies?

I have a lot of hobbies that I like to do, although I haven't really worked on any of them in a while. I like to crochet, sew, scrapbook and make jewelry. And of course I like to write which is what I have been working on for over a year now. I used to sell some of my jewelry but I haven't made any new pieces in quite some time. I really need to get back into it again as I really enjoy it and it relaxes me. I have scrapbooks that I have made from pictures while in both New York and DisneyWorld. I need to work on a scrapbook for my kids with all of their baby pictures. Do you have any hobbies that you enjoy besides writing?

My first response to you would be "Yes, six of them" this is a family joke, courtesy of my son in law. I asked him when we first met him if his mom had any hobbies--she had five children, their last name is Hobbie so he quipped, "Yes, five of them". So my son in law, daughter and their four children are my Hobbies. Yes, I like to needle craft and have house plants and paint and all kinds of things.

@PrarieStyle I think I need a dedicated space. I have a lot of scrapbooking stuff, but no longer have a collection of paper memories. I do have lots of pictures.

@PrarieStyle Maggiepie lived in a tiny bump in the road in Louisiana that had a family with the name Knot. They used to win bar bets that way. "We have the same mother and the same father, but we're not (Knott) brothers."

That's adorable. What a great last name. I have friends whose last name is Button. I've always wanted to get more into making scrap books. I'm real good at saving all the little paper things I want to put in them. But, not so good at sitting and putting them together.

There are a lot of hobbies you can do for free. What about hiking, or even just walking. Baking?

I enjoy my time out in the garden more than anything I do in the house. This morning I was pruning a little and after that I cut some roses to bring indoors. I like to bring a little of the garden into the house where I can enjoy it all day.

I love that bracelet. I craft, love gardening, I paint, I love photography and I write. I haven't painted in months. I have crafted a bit.. in the last few weeks. I sometimes wish we had more hours in a day

Think it is really great idea. I spend too much time only on the computer or writing. Isn't that the same thing? But having a hobby might be something for this winter. I'll think about it. Thanks for the idea.

The bracelet looks really pretty. I just started to learn doing some handwork in these few years, including knitting, crocheting, sewing, because I'd like to teach my children these handwork skills. I never thought I could or like to do all these, but once I started to learn, I got addicted to them. I also found that these hobbies are actually therapeutic. When I am doing all these, I feel the calmness and peace within myself. I learned to be more patient. I also like gardening and woodworking. I just learned needle felting lately, and it can be a really addictive hobby too. I wish I can teach my children all these handwork skills, and also teach others as well.

@simone10 Yes, I think that too. I am also influencing and teaching my friends (neighbors) to learn knitting and crocheting, and hopefully they will pass these skills on to their children too.

@simone10 me too, but even just 30 minutes can be as disrupting as a few hours... last night I stumbled to bed at 7 and woke up at 10:30 - had a terrible time getting back to sleep for some reason...
