No drama for me today either. Was quiet and peaceful. I slept until 11 am then got up and put turkey in oven. Took shower, started preparing other foods and by the time everything was ready to go, my father-in-law came over and we ate dinner. Just the 6 of us, holidays are easy here.. hehe

Okay. Keep in mind I had *NOTHING* to do with this, so don't look bad on me. But my niece said "white power" to her brother in the car in front of the hotel ran by Indians (from India) and then my grandmother started talking about her daughter in law's "black baby".
I am so glad I left my half-black boyfriend at home.
My niece was only joking and I quickly told her to knock it off, and not to EVER say anything like that in public again or she'd get her a** kicked, either by me, her parents or anyone else who heard her.
We can't control Grandma, unfortunately. She's 93 and was raised in a different time, but doesn't understand how much things have changed. Plus I think she's starting to get a little senile...

No drama here! My mom and I get along famously. This isn't to say that we never have words, but we love each other a lot and are such best friends that it's common for us to say the same thing at the same time in the same words.
We had a wonderful dinner at a place called The Red Brick Inn and then drove around afterwards and talked just because it was so beautiful out.
We'd planned to go out later and look at the lights, but I hadn't gotten a lot of sleep the night before and felt too drowsy to be a safe driver.
Frankly, I think that you should decline the Thanksgiving dinner invitation next year--in fact, decline the Christmas dinner invitation THIS year AND next.
I know this sounds cold and unforgiving, but neither you nor your son need this kind of cruel nonsense.
You don't need to make a big issue of it--just say that you've made other plans. Stick to your plans, and don't be talked out of them!

I want to thank you for your very kind words and great advice, and your right, and I tried to stay away on Christmas, but Skylar cried almost the whole day because he wanted to be with her, thats one thing..when your that young, you dont hold grudges ..and forget things easily..but by the end of the day,we did go to her house and it was great because she stepped on egg shells all day lol..which was wonderful. because she ha snever cared before..so maybe thats what she needed..thank you very much for helping me and being there for me with your kind words..and again sorry it took me so long to get back to you

Mine went quite well, even the two sons who weren't speaking got along yesterday. So I won;t bore you with my details. I am responding to your post to offer your my sympathy. Such drama used to be the case in my life, but it passed eventually, yours will too. I am so sorry your mother behaves so poorly towards you and yours! I hope today is a better day for you. If you need a hug, consider it given ((((hug)))

I'm so sorry : (
That sounds like serious drama!
The only drama we had was my son woke up with the flu, so I had to tend to him and cook too. ((lots of handwashing involved))
We weren't able to stop by and visit with my best friend or other family members though,
as planned.

I did too. Although, it was between me and my husband. we couldn't make it to our families this Thanksgiving. My husband was cranky when he was making dinner because I messed up the timer that he set for the pie, which I didn't know it was set before I messed with the timer. But, after dinner, everything was forgotten and we became happy again. Boy, Thanksgiving bring out alot in people.

Yep!!
My Grandma, who has dementia and is being moved out of her house (she is already moved, just not her stuff), was mad at my drunk of an uncle because he promised to do something for her tomorrow and he was backing out. Plus my cousin didn't want to go home with that uncle (her Dad) because of his drinking (though I did not see him drink at my parent's house) and his attitude.
CRAZY house!!

Yeah My Grandmother is in the hospital. So her and my Aunt couldn't come. Therefore I decided not to go because I don't really get along with anyone else in my family other than my Dad. Me and My dad are going to visit My grandmother and aunt on saturday.
