What happened in your life that really had an impact on you? Not personally to you, family or friends?
For me, it was the assassination of President John F. Kennedy.
He was killed one week prior to my 6th birthday. I remember sitting in front of the television watching his funeral. It was the first time I even heard of death. I didn't really understand it. I just knew everyone was sad, this man was special and he was gone.
As I grew up, I learned more about him and as the years went by, he was even more special to me.
I remember when his brother, Robert Kennedy was running for President and was shot and killed, too. I couldn't believe it.
And how sad it was killed in a plane crash, after just getting married, his wife and her sister were with him. All of them died.
His sister, Caroline Kennedy and I are about the same age. She's amazing. Such a strong woman.

I was very young when Pres. Kennedy was killed. I do recall it vividly.
The event that really had a lasting impression on me was the Vietnam War.
I watched it on the tv every night when home from school.
