The Right To Die movement In California. I think in the name of empathy and sensitivity to others this should be a right given to those in the throws of ugly diseases that leaving breathless and in pain. I guess Washington, Oregon and Montana have laws that doctors can give lethal injections of medication to terminally ill patients. What are your thoughts on this issue?

I'm in favor as long as it's written write, the person is terminal, and it's really clear that this is what they wanted.

Yes, there would have to be some steps taken to insure that this is the case.

If patients are terminally ill, they should be allowed to have the injection, if that is their wish. We are allowed to euthanize our pets so they don't have to suffer. Why should it be any different for people?

I totally agree. When someone can no longer enjoy their lives they should have the choice.

I'm hoping all that really love their loved ones comply and grant the person this instead of being selfish and holding on to someone who is in terrible pain..

I hope that happens too. Not thinking of themselves but actually seeing it from their loved one's side of things. I'm glad to hear that there is a process they have to go through so something done in haste isn't hurtful later on.

YES! Well put and how I feel about it. I also agree with Dawn that it should be very clearly the patient's decision and in writing and for the terminal only and so on....

I think that a person should be able to terminate his/her life if he can explress his will and is terminally ill and in pain.

No doubt the religious right will protest this like everything else.
