You get a knock on your door early in the morning..you are half asleep and wondering who it might be?
You go downstairs and see somebody at the door through the window in the door..it is frosted so you really can't tell who it is..
Should you answer or not?
Who do you think it could be?

@factorial I prefer, it is more quiet, even if my husband wants to stay downstairs and watch the TV, I hear no noises.

folks know best not to be knockin' on my door, regardless 'f the time 'f day. front door don't work anyhow 'n folks who're welcome here know such. if'n they're brave 'nough to make it through the garages 'n the pup they jest open the door 'n holler howdy.

How early is too early!!!
I go to bed after 3:30 am
It there is natural daylight outside - it should be my dear landlady or even the newspaper guy.
Oh, I just now had a look, the window next to the door is already 4 feet tall and 3 feet wide. So chances of opening the door without knowing is less - especially in the daylight

I don't answer my door, unless I know someone is coming over. If it's someone I know and they didn't forewarn me, they better get on their cell phone and let me know it's them, cause they will be sitting outside for quite some time.

@gregario888 they are getting braver by watching houses and the people who live in the house by watching their daily routine ..so if the people go to work..they know what hours to rob them before the people get home or while they are away on business trips..so sad..

@Rosekitty But in big and unsafe cities, like Delhi in India. Even broad daylight robberies and thefts are not uncommon. I'm not sure how it is in US?

Anyway without making sure who it is I will not open the door fully. We cannot trust on anyone in this present day. We should always expect the unexpected.
