Traveling the world doesnt mean going around the world, it means taking time off and seeing parts of the world that you have never explored before.
I believe I was born to travel . . . my late father said that I had the personality to everywhere but sitting still . . how right he was.
If you had the resources and the time Would you? and what would be a GRAND World travel to you? I said to my children - if they really wanted to spoil me, they can anytime buy me a MULTIPLE stop Flight ticket . . . . 25 or more stops so that I can visit all my friends everywhere!

I do like flying short trips... but for long haul flights... if I could be transported like they do in star trek (beam me up scotty) or stargate...then all the better....

I love to travel, there are many part of the world that I have never seen. Two countries that I would like to visit are New Zealand, where @valmnz lives, and South Africa, your country. I know that it's expensive but I would also love to visit Japan.

When I was younger I loved to travel, but since 911 the reality of flying and all the palaver that surrounds it these days has made flying into a bit of a nightmare. Like Anja @Rollo1 I would happily visit if they brought the places to me lol...

Yes! Totally! One thing you can do is actually live for about 6 months in different places. Especially with English skills you can quickly find a teaching job in many countries!

Sadly for South Africans Visa are not available to us - just limited times in each country - even Australia - we can only stay 90 days. If we apply for jobs - then the company has to get us visa's - things are changing - but we cannot even get into UK - We dont need Visa's for Ireland as they are our sister country with New Zealand

@Inlemay Yes... visas suck... I agree... But there are different programs that may help you in getting a visa. They can provide certain documents.

@Inlemay Mine likes to travel, but hates flying. That's probably one of the reasons we don't go abroad too often.

@Inlemay I know a few people who don't really like travelling, and pretty much refuse to travel outside the country.

I think my travelling is done. Unless something can be done about the smoking restrictions...

@Inlemay - Hey Lany! It's still "How is Cape Town" :)
I don't mind not smoking on the plane, but there should be smoking booths at all the airports :)

@toflanigan are you still there? whats up? My friend that just flew 13 hours to Australia - then a train to Orange - said that 16 hours without a smoke nearly killed her. No smoking booths anywhere in train stations nor airports and BIG No smoking all over Australia

My wife and I are travelers but only Asia for now. The reason is the airline that sells discounted plane tickets have routes only in Asia. Last January we were in Beijing to taste the snow in the Great Wall. In April we were in Kuala Lumpur for a selfie with Petronas Tower. Next week, Sept 25, we will be in Ho Chi Minh in Vietnam. And there are trips to Hongkong and Singapore in the following months.
But a trip to Europe is our dream.

There are so many places I'd love to see but unfortunately I haven't been able to see many that are on my bucket list. Hopefully one day I'll be on my trip of a lifetime

I can't fly because of an ear problem (I have a eustacian tube issue that makes me dizzy when I change elevations), but I love to travel by car. I would love to win one of those gazillion-dollar lotteries and take off on a trip across North America in an RV.

I love traveling! :-D A comfortable RV and a back road is the way for me. I'd love to be able to visit all the national parks and city attractions alike. New people and experiences keep life interesting.

If I had the money, I would travel the world. However, there are some places where I would prefer to visit first. For example, I would rather visit Hong Kong than Australia. So depending on how much money I actually had, I'd visit my most favorable places first.
