Today is Australia Day for some and Invasion Day for others as it’s the day the British proclaimed Australian territory as their own and the rest, as they say, is history.
Some will be taking to the streets in protest; some will...

I just loved this. I was visiting some friends recently and we went out for a walk with their dog (who you can just see in the background). When we came to this little footbridge over a tiny stream there was this totally...

A relatively busy day for us today. Vince’s brother is due here shortly with a trailer and we’ll be loading the ‘hospital bed’ for him to take to his house.
A new hospital-type bed is very expensive, but we were able to purchase...

I wrote about the ‘Madigan squeeze’ which replicates the birth process and is used on calves and foals to help them get started in life. It’s quite a simple technique in a way but surprisingly effective.

The photo has nothing to do with the discussion.
We went shopping today and picked up some bread. Vince likes the 9-Grain loaf but often there is none in the shop or only a couple of loaves.
Vince asked the lady in the area why...

I have tried becoming a vegtarian (not a vegan) several times in the past. It never works for more than a month. I start craving a hamburger like mad, and a veggie burger just isn't going to do it. I do think vegetarinism is...

Yes, it's official. I turn 60 today. That means I'm what you'd call a "woman of a certain age." That expression refers to a woman middle-aged or older. Mostly older.
The phrase " of a certain age" dates back to the 1700's and...

Fiacre Banks @looeyville The first sixty are the worst. Now that you’ve got them over you life will start to pick up.

We have a ceiling-mounted drying rack at home and that’s where I hang up the washing in winter. Yesterday I was taking down the dry things, then I went round with the basket, distributing clothes to their owners. And I found I was...

Yes, this is one of those twisted posts I make here on mylot. When we first got introduced to these snakes, there was no way I was going to try them, but my kids are them and were very happy.
No, these aren't the creepy reptiles...

The photo has nothing to do with the post. It was taken at the dog cemetery near Corrigin in Western Australia.
I spoke about a German saying about making an elephant out of a mouse.
We have a free paper here called Have A Go...

A post by @kaylachan inspired this.
How do you respond when people keep trying to sell you something?
Pushy salespeople are a personal bugbear. If I want something I will get it. If I say no then that’s that, thank...

Fiacre Banks @fleura Pushy salespersons soon learn that it won’t wash with me. I’ve even been known to start singing at them operatic style to express my refusal to buy and that embarrasses them even if no-one is around watching. I’m sure I’m on quite a few black lists.

So there's a couple of ways to look at this.
Context: I had a hydrafacial and dermaplaning done at the spa today. The technician said I had beautiful, wonderful skin, well-maintained, nothing needed to be done with it more than...
