How Wicked Can a Chocolate Mousse Be?

Desserts are quite a rarity in our house, but tomorrow night we have special guests and I've decided to make a frozen triple chocolate mousse. How wicked can a dessert get? I've finished the dark chocolate layer and now that it is frozen I'm about to start on the milk chocolate layer. Tomorrow morning I'll make the white chocolate layer. It is exceptionally rich and calorie laden but I'll be serving it with either strawberries or raspberries. Do you like to make special desserts when you have guests? Would you and your guests enjoy this dessert?

I just do not wait for guests as I have an uncontrollable sweet tooth. But what you are making is extremely rich. I have made jellies and Blan manch with layers and the ribbon cake. I make my bread pudding often guests or no guests. Since you say you do not make it often please do justice to that dessert and have it to your heart's content

@valmnz That reminds me. When we were kids mother used to do some mixing that involved jaggery and coconut. She would give us to lick her hand and we did lick it, each one getting a turn the next time she got into it.

I've never been a fan of choc mousse since an unfortunate incident with one on a French holiday as a child. When it cools off I will make a frozen chocolate cheesecake but hardly ever eat puds.

@thea09 ha, ha. I hate my tablet. It keeps changing the words I write and sometimes the results are definitely funny if I don't notice them. Thanks for the smile

@valmnz That happens in my home mostly - that when the guests arrive the pudding is already half eaten - ha ha

@Butchcass4 I confess, this one is rather rich in taste, and expensive to make too.

I'm a chocolate fan the richer the better. Although its not on my menu as I am losing weight. The Lord is helping me otherwise I would not have lost 51 pounds over a period of one year, bless His name. I did have a mousse years ago at an expensive restaurant and I've never tasted anything like it since. I know you're guests will enjoy it for sure.

I like special desserts and chocolate is an all time favorite But, triple chocolate is much too rich and I would probably gag. Milk chocolate with a slight layer of dark chocolate would be enough. Which chocolate is not on my list of favorites at all. Hope your guests enjoy.

I'd be content with that for breakfast! My wife made me a pear and almond tart last week, but I suppose what I'd really like right now is pear and amaretto cheesecake. Well, we can dream.

For sure if i am one of your guests i would really like that chocolate mousse cake . I am not fond of chocolate flavored cake , but reading how you make it into three layers with different flavor in each layer , makes me drool.
