When I was a kid, I was told that to kill boredom read a book... and since then I did try to follow this advice but many times to kill boredom instead of reading a book I listen to music, use social media and do many other things.. But I still do believe that books are the best and most loyal friend anyone can have, so I do have few of my favorites ... What's your favorite book?

I love to read books. I prefer to read auto biographies/biographies and self help books. The one which I like most is - 'The Magic of Thinking Big, by David J. Schwartz. I bought it and I've read it many times. My brother did not know that I've a copy of the book, he did not check it with me. He also liked the book very much and he bought a separate copy. When I saw his copy, I told him that I already had one copy and we could not stop laughing. Now a days, there are various applications on mobile phones, which allow us to read book on line. I've downloaded few books and I read it when waiting for something or at some place to pass my time.

@ashuli Kindle is one of the devices to read the books in digital form. We could also download books (free of cost) through some other applications. And as I said earlier, we could read them 'off line' also.

@ashuli I love reading books. The old-fashioned kind you hold in your hands. I haven't had time to read for a long while but lately I have been picking up my favorites by authors like Stephen King and Danielle Steele.

@dlr297 We are on the same page LOL. I would be lost without my Bible as I read it every morning for the most part. Well, unless I am visiting my children. I try to get some reading in but the household is so busy it usually doesn't work but that ok I am full when I go!

Our father bought a book of fairytales for me and my sisters to read when we were still kids . It was the best book we have read in our childhood . We don't know now , where the book is . But it was tattered by our constant reading and looking at the beautiful pictures .

My favourite topic! I am a voracious reader and I like books of different genres. Nowadays, I am reading two books: Khuswant Singh's book on Ranjit Singh (History) and Mukul Deva's RIP (Indian spy thriller). Both are excellent and unputdownable.

I have several favorites ... depends on how I'm feeling. If I need to feel like I'm 'accomplishing something,' the good book is Napoleon Hill's old classic Think & Grow Rich. If I feel like reading something fun, it's a book from Douglas Adams' Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy-series. An indoctrinated Roman Catholic, the first 'book' that pops into my head when someone asks that question is the Holy Bible (biblegateway.com). But I think I want that book to be 'secret'---like a personal letter from God to the Son.

Nothing in particular. I have a shelf full of books ... novels and spiritual books. I have a habit of buying books that I like and read them when I have some free time. Right now, I am doing my weekly Bible studies which means I haven't have time to read my other books yet. So I guess the only books that I am reading the most right now is my Bible which I use as a guide for my Bible studies.

I'd love to do some reading when in free time ,the most favoriate one is ???,named asThe Story of the Stone, in English .Describing the daily life of an noble family. There are so many detail description in the book ,even more than Notre Dame de Paris .We can learn a lot about of the politics , the economy and the society of that era ,we can even learn a lot about the architectural style, the costom, the way people live everyday ,it could be an encyclopaedia of the era of Cao Xueqin, the writer. But due to the fussy detail description ,few Chinese could read the book from the start to the end ,let alone foreigners.

My favorite book is the Bible. I have been reading it for the past nearly 30 years and it never gets old and I always learn something new from it. God has fresh and new things for us every day.

When I was in high school, I loved to read the Hardy Boys! When I was married, I read all how-to books especially about painting/drawing and photography. Now that I am junior senior, I read books on how to look young and foods that make us live long!

Fairy tales when I was a kid and biographies when I grew up. Can't think of a specific book. But the first fairy tale I read was Cinderella and the first biography was about Sammy Davis Jr.

I am a fan of Khaled Hosseini. His books have the capability to tear you to shreds and then weave your soul back together with the softness of a mother's hand. Thousand Splendid Suns, The Kite Runner. You need to read it to believe the surreal amount of emotions they bring out in you.
