Has Car Parking become a problem for you too ?

To travel, to go for shopping, to go to a friends place, or a movie or say to go anywhere within the same city... we all go either by car, bike, auto or even bicycle (nowadays less people use it). Its gets very convenient n we reach our destination without wasting time for waiting for a taxi/cab etc.
But what.. when we reach the destination, we cant keep it in our pocket, we need a place to park our car... But nowadays cities are so crowded, it gets difficult to get a proper parking place...
Then what do you do ?

For me its a different case. our car garage door just opens to the road back side of our home. and that road is only for 3 sites for us and other 2 neighbours. They are yet to construct home. The problem is we keep the garage door shut unless we need to take out vehicle now here comes the trouble. since the road is used by none always. people from other roads and their visitors just park their cars in this road. it really annoys me that we cant take out our unless they take their vehicles from there and they are least bothered of the inconvenience they are causing us. If we try to explain them the problem few understands but few just uses foul words really annoying.

This happened to us too. We lived in a house at the end of a small lane. All the people who came for shopping parked their cars in the lane obstructing us from entering and leaving our house when we wanted.

@Shyamalaa Atleast some one has gone through the same situation. This is our own house so we dont option to get away unless we get a new house somewhere in good locality. We opted for this because my kid was too small and for a working woman like me need support from the elders. Since my in laws stay 350 kms away we planned to buy a house near my parents home so that can help me take care of my kid. I had a maid but she was not consistent so no other option.

It took me a little over a year to get my neighbors to stop blocking my driveway. And they recently did it again. They smile and make nice then go right ahead and block it. Grrrrr.

I am lucky to have a garage, and my car stays in it most of the time. I live in the center of a town, and it is very difficult to park it in the streets. I am moving in a place where it will be even more difficult (there are a lot of pedestrian streets around). I have bought a bicycle a few years ago, and I do often my shopping in the town with it. I am also using buses times to times.

Even though we have a garage the parking by others infront of our garage door really annoys us and wastes a lot of time for us to find who is the culprit parking here and to vacate that vehicle inorder to take ours out. many a times we even cancelled our shopping and outing since we could not take out the car

@chaitra001 I have had to call the police a few times to remove a vehicle in front of my garage door. When they have a ticket and have also to pay for their car impounded, they don't park again in front of my garage door.

Car parking is really a grave problem in a Metro city like Delhi. I avoid taking my vehicle, where there is such problem. I see no solution to this problem. Car pooling is one of the options but not many people resort to it. Government has enhanced parking charges to a considerable level, even that has not deterred the car users to avoid riding on their cars.
Even in residential areas car parking is one of the big problems, neighbors often start arguing over parking space, which seems very awkward.
If I need to go to such places which have parking problem, I better hire a vehicle or ride on Metro train.

@ashuli - I can understand that not getting a parking space in a big mall would have been a very disappointing and unexpected experience and you would have felt very bad.
I hope it wasn't Select City walk Mall?

@dpk262006 Nowadays the situation is getting even worse. Once went to a mall, hoping that there is lots of parking space and we wont face any parking issue. But I was shocked to find that even that was full, n if there was some space people had parked their cars in such a way that their cars were occupying double space...

I know what you are talking about, as when I park, i try to do it in such a way, that I can drive out instead of backing out. I really don't like backing out either, as sometimes there isn't a lot of room to back out. That is about the only place where I worry about parking.

It is indeed a problem now even in a small city like ours.Earlier one culd park just about anywhere , which of course was wrong, now things are much more organised , as a result of which we keep circling around the city center looking for a safe parking spot.It is no problem when you visit the malls since they have their own parking , have a feeling this is one of the reasons why malls attract large crowds ..

@ashuli Honestly I too wonder how things would be in the future ! Car pooling is the best solution and making sure that there are lots of parking areas near shopping and residential complexes so that traffic does not get stranded because of vehicles parked helter skelter on the road.

I am sorry you have that problem. I live in the Boondocks and have a very large driveway thanks to my husband expanding it. We have a small town where sometimes parking can be an issue but I am certain it is nothing like in your cities!

@ashuli Bless your heart I feel bad for you. Well all have different pressures in our lives. Mine may be different than yours but none the less pressing. I am permanently disabled and have some limitations. I have to rely on God for Him to get me through each day. I would be lost without Him in my life. Thank You Jesus thank You so very much. I pray you would bless @ashuli in a very special way Lord.

Yes, it's a major problem in Delhi where it seems that every family (except my own) possesses at least two cars. Generally I use my Office car while commuting to and fro office. Fortunately, a car with 'Government of India' logo does not face much problem for parking.
My wife does face major problem in parking our personal vehicle.

It's such a shame that your wife has to deal with that on a daily basis. Bless her heart. I pray for a solution for her in Jesus name.

@Butchcass4 No, Madam! She doesn't face the problem everyday. Generally she experiences problem of parking when she goes for marketing in the famous and big markets of Delhi. However, sincere thanks for the prayer.

I have a driver so never have to face this issue.! all i do is drop outta the car, he manages the parking ( keeps shifting if has to ) and picks me back up. But yeah, it is a big mess here, with more and more ppl being able to afford cars and public transport taking a set-back- the issue of traffic jams nd parking will keep getting worse unless ppl step-up and start preferring pub. trans.

I have a hard time parking at my work it gets so busy since i work in a hospital. I try to get there early to get a close spot. They don't have alot of employee parking so we just park in one lot then have to go in a far lot to park if there's nothing close. It's annoying and difficult especially in the winter and you have to walk a distance to get to the building. I wish we had our own parking places. Even at the mall and restaurants its hard to park and then you have people that park in 2 spots or cant park at all..

I'll always wait till car will leave and I think I'm very luck with that because I always find someone who will leave the parking area.

usually I have to park my bike or my car at the road side which causes a lots of problems to me....
Firstly there is no security at all..........
Secondly many of the no parking areas are not even provided with a sign board which again in turn cause different kind of issues..........
