Two out of three kids pissed me off this morning...

First it was Cary taking his sweet time getting out of bed in the morning. I woke him up, gave him 5 minute reminders, and he still didn't have his clothing on 5 minutes before we needed to leave. Tomorrow I swear I'm going in there with cold water.
Then I found out he still hadn't turned his band stuff in. More on that later.
So then I asked Dearra if she had taken care of getting a counseling appointment as her financial aid depends on her declaring a major. Nope.
So I texted their dad, and he replied back that maybe she should just quit school and get a job. So I passed that message on, and she got really mad, started crying and said it was the anxiety. Felt bad, but just said, hey I love you, but you need to take care of this.
On the way to school, I talked to Cary about the band stuff. He said he didn't think the teacher would accept it any more. I said, no he will accept it as it's mandatory, but he may not give you a grade for it. It's important that you turn it in so that he has our contact info, payment for band supplies, etc. Told him he needed to get all the teacher signatures by Friday and turn it in. If it's not turned in, I'm taking more stuff away from him. Sigh.
Later, Dearra texted me that she had gotten an appointment set up for the school counselor. Yay.
But it did kind of ruin my sweet disposition all day.

Wow, we had to handle the school junk by the end of the first week of school for my son to get his financial aid. I had to take a half day off work one day to bring him down to the city to get some paperwork filled out. But he had no problem picking a major.
Are you going to let the boy quit band after this year? I find it really unfair that they force him to do band and he obviously has no desire to, and that you have to pay for it when it's a requirement to graduate.

Band is not a requirement, but he has to take an art. He chose band out of all the arts, so he has to suck it up now.

Kids can be real pain in the rump. I took both kids school ipad from them. As their chores were not done. They had no homework and were only playing on them.
