Generally walking trigger hunger , because the calories in the body burn .
Health experts advice not to eat immediately after a Walk.
Better to take fruit juice or butter milk with less sugar is good for one.
One can gain good blood circulation , control diabetes and stay away from heart attack .
I walk regularly and avoid driving mostly .
Hope you all walk in morning or evening .
Expecting more of your valuable thoughts about walk & its advantages here .

Walking is the key to health I agree Ebenz. So less walking in this place here, people drive everywhere even across the street.

It's a very good topic @writerjo
Walking is very beneficial. Our muscles need constant exercise and the carbohydrates need to burn. Walking not only burns calories off sugars, but also fat. Otherwise there will be accumulation of excess calories and that shows as our increased weight.
The usage of fat during walking does prevent forming plaques in the arteries, warding off heart problems.
I take a walk most evenings and it helps to keep myself in shape. I have a tendency to swell if not exercising

@marlina Apart from the physical benefits, walking also clears the mind and freshens us. Where mind is healthy, body is healthy. That's a good thing you do!

Yes, it is always good to walk instead of ride a vehicle. Walking is the best exercise to strengthen our body and muscles and of course for our heart. I go for my morning and evening walk but sometimes I miss it.

Walking is one thing I do, whether I walk the dogs, or I go to the mall or elsewhere to shop, I walk a lot. It is good for me I know, but, I have lower back pain that if I am on my feet to long, it will flare up and really start hurting. Before the back pain, I could walk longer and I could stand up with no problem. Oh the joys of getting old/

@writerjo I am sorry that you are having back pain as well. It is so frustrating, as i can't do as much as I would like, one, becasue of my age, and the other is my back pain. I am 67, and some days, i feel much older. It is no fun gettting old when things hit you that you never had before.

@rosekiss This is very big draw back and unexpected twist .
I have taken medicines and applying pain relief spray .
But still I could not recover from it .
I think I am getting old and facing physical problems earlier .
Facing and overcoming is the challenge kept in front of all us in this earth .

Thank you. That's very informative. I regularly do brisk walking because I don't have any choice. My place is kind of far away from the main street and I don't know how to drive yet so I don't have a choice but to walk. On contrary, I guess its very beneficial coz even though I'm busy at least I had chances to do some brisk walking going to work.

I always walk after meals so my food can digest faster. I don't want to feel bloated up after meals or else I would feel sleepy and won't be able to do my work at the office. And a good advantage is to park my car further from the eating place so I can have a long walk to my car.

I'm a huge fan of walking, and love nothing more than to take a brisk walk either first thing in the morning before the world comes to life or early evening when the world's just winding down. I've also heard doctors recommend walking as it's kinder on the knees and joints.

I used to walk 15 minutes in the morning and also in the afternoon going to work and going home, sometimes in weekend I want to walk long more hours to burn more calories.

I love to walk... especially if I can listen to a story at the same time. I don't know how many miles I have walked this summer... and it was all worth it. :)

The advice is really good, but how many of us can follow? Cardiac problems and diabetes are increasing at an alarming rate all over the world because of lifestyle changes. Nowadays, even young men and women below 35 have been suffering from cardiac arrest, which was unbelievable even 20 years ago.

Have a good walk on a nice Summer day. Keep it up. I like early mornings for a walk. I once thought I could walk 100 miles but I usually never walk much more than a few miles in one stretch.

@writerjo, I certainly don't walk as much as I used to and I used to be able to walk over 20 miles in one stretch, that was from our house to the local lake and back. These days I get more exercise using my clip on pedometer and walking inside a Walmart Supercenter to get some good walking in.
