I Am Not Superstitious, But...

Yesterday I was excited at the idea to assist at the first super moon eclipse in 32 years. Eclipses have been seen, from centuries, as anticipation of catastrophic events. I do not believe to those rumors, I was glad to be able to watch the phenomenon. First thing going wrong, around 7 pm, the sky becomes cloudy and it gets darker and darker. It seems we are not going to see the super moon. After watching a movie, we go upstairs to go to sleep. I turn on the bedside lamp... the bulb explodes! I go down two flights of stairs, to take a new bulb in the basement. One of the downstairs bulb goes off. Back to the bedroom, I replace the bulb, it flickers for a few seconds goes off. In the meantime I hear that my cell phone needs to be recharged, weird I already did it the day before. I had enough of weird things happening. I put another lamp on the nightstand, read a few pages of a book trying to forget about those events. I do not know what to think. This is the first time something like this happens, but we live in this house from only 15 years, so we missed the previous eclipse.

I was all set to watch the eclipse when the moon sailed across the sky and was eclipsed by my neighbours chimney.

Nooo, this is too bad. I was sure to be able to watch the moon yesterday, the sky was clear and blue until mid afternoon.

Last time I lost several power packs, it was not the fault of the moon, but of an overvoltage on the electric line.

@LadyDuck I think you should measure the AC voltage with a voltmeter. It can be due to bad quality bulbs, but it can also be an overvoltage due to a local shortcut.

@topffer I saw that my hubby has measured everything this morning, from bulbs to the lamp . It seems that the lamp has a problem, it has worked for 15 years and suddenly last night it had a problem.... weird.

The computers are protected by APC (power suppliers), they beep when there is a spike or a power problem. They did not, so it was not the line.

Maybe your husband is actually a werewolf and the effect of the moon drove him to run around causing damage to the light bulbs and your mobile phone.

The phenomena is global and so its effect will not be localised just in your house. They are all coincidences.

@LadyDuck These kind of things happen even when there is no blood moon

They surely are coincidences, but it's annoying all came at the same time, including a missing parcel delivery today.

Strange..This blood moon is said to have a lot of Biblical significance. I am not superstitious either I would just think that there was a spike in the power supply.

@LadyDuck That is even stranger.. Honestly I have had strange things happen to me once . After which I always pray when I sense something happening.

We have two twin lamps on our nightstands only one bulb exploded. The power supply has always been very stable here, I did not hear the computer protection alarm, so we had no spikes.

@LadyDuck Strange happenings indeed. Perhaps it had some connection, who knows? I didn't get to see the blood moon. Early this morning though the oddest thing happened that at around 6 AM it gets lighter and lighter. This morning by 7 AM it was still pitch black and then the rain started coming pouring down real heavy. It stopped about 9 AM and the sun came out.

Oh my. That does sound like quite a few strange events. Maybe the pull of the moon on earth was stronger, I had insomnia, and was walking around at 3:00 in the morning all disgruntled.

I have always insomnia when there is a full moon, this one was possibly more powerful.

@LadyDuck , I guess a full moon does not agree with us. I hope you have a calmer night tonight.

I have only seen photos on the web. The last 12 months I have missed 10 full moons out of 12 due to clouds.

The light bulbs always seem to go out at the same time here and it's usually when I don't have any spare ones. So I end up tading them out from one lamp to another until I buy some.

I have two or three spare bulbs in the basement, just in case. It never happened that the one I had just changed burned out. That was very strange.

@Rollo1 I test them before buying, they are usually good. My husband tested the lamp and it seems the problem is coming from the lamp.

Sorry those freaky things happened to you. They always said crazy things can happen on a full moon night. I got to watch the eclipse for a little bit but couldn't stay up long enough i was tired. But it was pretty cool from what I did see.

If I could have just seen the blood moon I would have gotten some of my energy back. But it was covered by clouds. I did see it eclipse all the way to the end just before it was swallowed. If the clouds delayed by 20 minutes I could have seen the red.

@LadyDuck Well, 2033 is the next supermoon full eclipse. But I don't know where that will be visible. The next blood moon that I will get to see in this region is January 21/22, 2019.
