Time and time again I have got up in the middle of the night to see such phenomena as the blood moon we were due to see last night. Did I see it? Did I heck! The moon was brilliant white and so very clear but not red at all for me.
I have got up to see the meteor showers and a view of the Northern lights but for most of these times the sky was covered in cloud! I do find it fascinating but here is my picture of the anaemic moon I saw last night at 4AM however I know that many of my friends around the UK were able to get a nice view of the full moon and the eclipse.
The only redness I saw was actually an orange glow from the street lights!
Better luck next time in 2019!

I love to watch any eclipse. There have been some fantastic solar ones in India!

Yes I read that it was not blood but white in UK.
I did manage to see it over here in midwest USA.
It was glorious when it eclipsed also.

@garymarsh6 It seems like we had blue skies until the day of the blood moon and then it was cloudy all day. Just our luck.

There will be two in 2018 one in January 31st (We wont see it at all in the uk as there will be cloud) The second is in July 27th & 28th! There are more but it depends where you are on the planet!

It sounds just like me (although I like to think not so much of the old ) but last night was the one time I had a clear sky and could see everything, I watched it through to about 330 and it was big and red then

I saw both the eclipse and the blood moon which wasn't that red in my area. However, the highlight for me was the moon that looked so bright and so much bigger and closer to earth than in the past. It was awesome.
