and don't feel any better for having done so. I think I over slept. Have you done this before? Then wake up with a bit of headache and feeling sort of out of sorts. I think that I am dehydrated. Yep, I drank a ounces of water and it helped. Do you wake up dehydrated?

No I dodn't but I don't sleep all that great anyway.I get my days and nights mixed up I tell you, ecasue I end up falling asleep anywhere I am, except i don't sleep standing up I have never tried that, as i probably would end up on the floor and not be able to get up. I did sleep a little while ago, during my break from here, so I am good to go for awhile.

I do that too. Get my days and nights mixed up that is. My problem with over sleeping is that I just want to do more of it. Just like over eating. It just makes me want to do more.

@celticeagle I do the same thing, and what I don't understand why when a person gets more sleep, they want to sleep more.It should be less. It is very complicated that is for sure.

I tend to feel that way when I am a little sleepy so take a nap but end up sleeping too long. When I sleep in it's usually because I need it.

I hear ya. I sleep in what I call cycles. Sleep for a bit and then am up for awhile and then sleep again. Then I go into my usual sleep and get about 8-10 hours. Then I start staying up later and later. It goes around in a cycle.

My BFF is that same way. When she was staying with me she would be up, have washed her hair, curled it and have it done before I got up.

I think you can get too much sleep. Like you said, waking up feeling really out of sorts and I always feel kind of drowsy all day.

Yep. I don't understand it though. If you stay at sleep for so long isn't your body needing the sleep?

@celticeagle I think that is true most of the time. I don't know why we feel the way we do sometimes when we get too much sleep.

@celticeagle I am retired also but still about 9 pm and I am ready for bed and by then my big dog has gone to her sleeping spot and my puppy has been put in her crate for the night. Sometimes I will fall asleep in my chair in the daytime but usually it is not for a long time as usually one of the dogs will come over and nudge me.

@Marcyaz ......Yah, dogs don't like you to sleep very long. They must get nervous that they won't get fed.

I stay in a city where weather is tend to be humid because of the coast. Therefore for me drinking ample amount of water is a must otherwise I tend to get dehydrated very easily. Sometimes at night I do get up because I feel dehydrated

It is good to drink about 8 ounces first thing in the morning, another before lunch and so forth through out the day. We need a lot for water help EVERY organ in our bodies do their job.

It is an odd fact that whenever you oversleep you usually end up feeling more weary than you would if you woke up at the usual time. This seems q2uite illogical because the extra sleep should have the opposite effect, yet this is something that most of us have experienced at some time or other.

Never experienced this yet. I always drink a glass of water an hour or so before sleeping. The last time I overslept I didn't feel any pain anywhere. Mostly I under sleep anyway.

Sleeping in for a lot of extra time makes us feel us all woozy and light headed. I always feel sleepy for the rest of the day too, and yes drink lots of water and my throat becomes very dry in this condition.

I have overslept at times and then wake up with a headache. I don't think I am dehydrated as I keep a bottle of warm by my bedside in case I wake up and am thirsty.

Yeah, like I have said else where--I have done a lot of research and I haven't read any given reasons why we get this headache. I rarely get a headache so when I get this I am rather startled by it.

Yes, i was going through a very bad phase of my life and most of the night i couldn't sleep, resulting a very bad morning headache. Since i was on leave from office work, i took rest and slept after breakfast... now i don't take much stress for anything and a min of 7-8 hours sleep at night is a must for me..

I know that I stay dehydrated, I dont drink much and what I do drink has caffeine in it. You can get a headache from too little or too much sleep. The average adult takes in too little sleep around 4-6hrs of sleep and compensate by drinking coffee. Adults really need around 8hrs of sleep and more if you are ill.

The caffeine can be a problem. We need those extra hours we aren't getting.
