Are We Smarter Than A Toddler?

I like most kids. It's obvious I'm nothing if not childish and I get their mind set. Give me a 6 year old in a Wal-mart with a cage full of bouncy balls, and someone's getting kicked out! If it's not packaged or behind glass, I'm going to play with it, so at that point it's kinda the store's fault I think.
The one thing about kids that I don't like are the parents. Because sometimes they say some pretty weird stuff. I have a friend who's looking for a new babysitter and she said "If little Dylan doesn't like someone, we won't hire them. Because kids are super intuitive and can sense things adults can't".
Oh really? Then why do so many of them get kidnapped by strangers every year? Are they just supporting the milk carton industry? You mean to tell me your child has these SUPER intuitive powers but those powers can be thwarted with.....a piece of candy?!?
You have some sort of super baby but it's Kryptonite is.....a picture of a puppy?!? Really?
What I'm trying to say i, don't let your children get in vans with strangers. I think that's what I'm trying to say. I lost track there. Happy Wednesday anyway!

Kids learn who to trust based on their parents' interactions. That sort of attitude is the perfect set up for that kid to have a life of victimization. Never mind the fact that the parent has an easy out.. How was I supposed to know so-and-so wasn't as good as they seemed? Junior just loved them!
Ugh. Parents need to step up and actually parent.

I agree with you here. The only thing would be that if my child did not like someone, even if she could not give a real reason but just felt uncomfortable with him or her, then I would seriously have to think about whether or not I would trust that person, especially if I was going to have to leave my child with them. Sometimes children know that something is not right, even when they cannot articulate what it is.

You say that you understand kids, but I don't really think that you do or you would know what kind of super-power the right kind of candy holds.

@purplealabaster I am awfully well for the state I'm in. I was told today that this place was up and running again, so thought I would have a mooch and saw you posting. I will reserve judgement as to whether it's great to be back for now. However, it's nice to see you too.

Kids have one thing in common, they learn fast, especially by the age 1 to 3. To them everything around is interesting and captivating. Even the simplest thing can make them laugh elsewhere grownups tend to be more serious over just a small matter..

My mother thinks, at least sometimes, kids are smarter than grown-ups.

If a child was quoting Shakespeare and you threw a quarter near a hot stove, I think your mothers theory would be disproved lol They are more fun in Wal-Mart hough lol

"Sometimes they say some pretty weird stuff"? Parents say extremely weird stuff all the time!

The biggest lie is when they say their babies smell good. I've seen the inside of a diaper. That kind of stink isn't going away until they're in 1st grade lol

If kids have such intuitive powers why are they always in "time out"
