Obesity!!!!!!!!!

What do you think are the common reasons of this problem???? Because I have seen obese people in my day to day life who eat often very less than a normal person's diet also they don't ever prefer junk food. Added to this they even do some kind of exercises but still are not able to loose their weight out........ So what do you think what could be the possible reasons behind that? Doesn't anyone have any justification for such a problem????

@sanketwagh Actually these hormonal conditions some times go unnoticed or misdiagnosed. I have had these problems until a few years ago.

Absolutely even I thought of that a couple of years back........ But the thing is they are not even suffering from those medical conditions..... And I wonder if anyone of them would have ever been suffering from those conditions then they might have diagnosed it so far by now......... And after all why would they hesitate to share with their best friend either ways....

Obesity is the result of overeating ...May be now they are trying to reduce which is why they are eating less and exercising...

@kiran8 I already understood what you wanted to say earlier but my point which I wanted to highlight is that they are my close friends.... So I have been watching them from plenty of years back year and so still couldn't find out the solution to their problem so did I asked others...

Chances are those people are closet eaters. I mean there are situations where it's a medical problem causing them to gain weight and not be able to lose it. But more often than not it's that the person eats too much and doesn't exercise enough. Just because you don't see them eat doesn't mean they aren't eating. Perhaps they just prefer to eat in private so they aren't picked on about their weight. I'm guessing when they're home alone at night they're eating very large portions of foods that aren't so healthy and that's how they stay big.

Yes I agree with you there could be some of that kind also. But the one's about whom I am talking are very closely observed by me and so did I asked for opinion. Because there are plenty of my friends facing from this problem...... Because they even have shared their eating habits with me so I don't think they might be eating at night.......... I guess it can be hereditary what do you think about that???

@sanketwagh If they're closet eaters they won't be honest about their eating habits. They'll make it sound like they don't eat much so that they don't have to take responsibility for their weight problems. Or perhaps they just don't realize that they are eating so much and that it's a problem.

@katsmeow1213 As i tried to explain earlier they are probably not closet eaters as they are really good friends of mine. So i do really know whether they are lying or saying the truth. so what do you think could be the other reason of their problem?

Metabolism can be the root of the problem. How a persons body burns calories. Could be a secondary illness that keeps the weight on. It is a very sad condition, to not be able to lose weight, even tho you do not eat a lot and exercise Sometimes it is stress leading to cortisol which keeps weight on.

The reason could be genetic as it usually runs in the family. Sedentary lifestyle and faulty diet can also be responsible. Hormone problems can also cause obesity

I read an article in the newspaper stating a research result that obesity has to be checked in the initial stages. If it persists for a specific period then the body adapts to the changes and it becomes difficult for the person to reduce weight even after putting in hours in gym or dieting.

I think six things happen. 1. We can no longer be as active as we were as kids. The energy that children have is simply amazing. 2. When we are kids we are given comfort foods, for which we develop a liking. These become our habits later on. As long as metabolism is high, these comfort foods don't cause problems. But when metabolism slows down, problems begin. 3. Stress of job, stress of family life, stress of health etc., get to us. We eat more because we end up using food as a comforting factor. 4. Hormonal changes - these are inevitable. When they happen we need to decrease the food intake accordingly. But we can't because we don't really know when and how much is that change. 5. Sedentary lifestyle. This can be deliberately developed by sitting before television set or myLotting as I am doing right now.lol. 6. Genes. As you can see, we need to stop giving children those comfort foods like ice creams and cadburies and sweets. We also need to train our children how to beat stress without eating. Lastly the television sets need to be sold on OLX as of yesterday.

I believe there have always been overweight people. I don't think this is a new phenomenon. Nowadays, though, there is so much less normal every day activities that keep people active and thinner. People used to have to do so much more manual stuff. Kids used to just play outside more and more.

I agree with OceanTiara. It can be a lot of contributing factors. Stress at home, social life, work. And that's why you eat a lot and don't exercise. Eat healthy foods and eat junk food and salty foods in moderation.

Accumulated body fats. Maybe a little exercise like walking or jogging or taking up sports could help, which I think I should be doing too.

Yeah, you are right. I think main reason of obesity is our digestion speed which get slow due to various reason sometimes hereditary. So then if we eat less then also fail to loose or control the weight.
