There are many answers to the question "What is the meaning of life?"...and they are mostly down to opinion. Some think it is to reproduce, others to spread the word of their god, but I don't believe it is a thing that can be defined. I truly think that humans just happened, we developed and we are here because we are...that's the simplicity of the situation in my view. I do however, think we are lucky to have been given the chance to live, and to experience such a beautiful planet, and that's something not many would dispute.
Look around you, every detail of life and nature is a miracle. Flowers are so pretty, animals are fascinating and how humans have progressed and developed is astonishing. So why do we spend so little time appreciating our surroundings?
There are so many reasons you should go for a walk, a picnic or a sit down outside, and I am a self confessed activist for the cause.
It's free - why spend hundreds on a gym membership to stare at a wall doing what you could be doing outside?
It's healthy for both body and mind - admiring your surroundings will really help you appreciate life and put things into perspective. Walking increases you energy and dopamine levels, leaving you feeling refreshed, invigorated, healthier and de-stressed.
It's beautiful - why would you not want to gaze upon the horizon and admire all the great outdoors has to offer?
It's peaceful - going for a walk or sit down can be a nice way to be alone with your thoughts and think about things, or even just to enjoy the quiet and think about nothing at all.
Or a good excuse to catch up with friends - enjoy a picnic, go camping or have a run/walk as an inexpensive and unique way to see friends.
Or even meet new people - Walking groups, star gazing or bird watching are just a few examples of popular hobbies, and great ways to make new like-minded friends.
It's educational - It's amazing what you'll learn about all of the different plants, animals and insects along the way.
It is a great way to experience the world - There's no limit on where you can go, whether you plan a route or choose a random country lane there will always be something to see.
So go on, plan a day to be at one with this stunning planet and embrace the opportunity to truly live, you'll feel so much better for doing so!

The world is its own gymnasium - we should be getting fit my being more adapted to being one with it - great article. The only meaning of life is what we give meaning to.
