A County youth is arrested for terroristic threats even in a small town near where I live.
A 17-year-old Cottonwood County male was arrested Monday evening by Fairmont officers for making terroristic threats in Fairmont.
Fairmont Police were notified Saturday morning of the terroristic threats made by the youth through Yik Yak, a social media app.
Requests for assistance were immediately submitted to owners of Yik Yak.
According to a press release from the Fairmont Police Department, the threat was believed to have been made from Cottonwood County, but the individual has ties to the Fairmont area, which caused concern in that community.
Fairmont Police are continuing to work with area school systems regarding the matter.

I believe it, small town parents are also losing control over their kids and it isn't right. It also makes those who discipline our kids harder because of peer pressure.

This reminds me of the days right after NC schools were desegregated by the courts and forced busing became the norm. It seemed like there were bomb threats and rumors of attacks on the schools by racists groups from both sides, the Klan and the Black Panthers, all the time. Now, instead of notes or phone calls, these threats show up on social media.

That's so sad, when he should be out there enjoying his life instead he's ruining it.
