A Super Typhoon Hitting Our Country Again

I live in the southern side of the country but we can still feel the ferocious wind with occasional outpouring of heavy rain. But I am more concerned for my countrymen in the north. The super typhoon is in their direction.
For two days now, they have been suffering. It's terrible to see the news of casualties and destruction because of very strong wind and extreme heavy rain. Houses destroyed, trees uprooted, stranded people, helpless, starving people, landslides, and lives taken. Oh my God, please help my countrymen!

Is there any way to avoid this kind of tragedies, except moving from the place, which isn't always easy to do?

This is so sad.. Yes, we can pray for them, and hope we will see those who lost their lives in the New World, when they come back after the resurrection.

@salonga - The Bible has a lot to say about this subject, so why not read som of the articles written about this subject. I made a search with "new earth" in the online library of jw.org - here is the result:

@buenavida I believe the Word of God with no doubt, that after the events of the end times, everything will perish including the present heavens and the earth but they will be replaced by new heaven and new earth (Rev. 21:1). The new earth will be the eternal dwelling place of believers, it is where the new Jerusalem will be... the heavenly city with pearly gates and streets of gold (Rev. 21:21. It is a physical place where the redeemed will dwell eternally with glorified physical bodies (1 Corinthians 15:35-58).

The terror of these typhoons is understandable, nothing seems to stop them. It's a terrible thing when Nature turns nasty.

We can't stop the rage of nature only the Creator of it all.

@Marilynda, as of today, the typhoon keeps sending rain and wind and through all this we can only but pray.

How often do typhoons and hurricanes touch the shores of your country and wreck havoc? Is it a common occurrence each and every year, or is it like it is here, where certain years are awful and other years are not quite so bad? I know I read about them on the weather channel, but I've never researched it out before.

We have no hurricanes here but typhoons that happen not just once every rainy season. The strongest typhoon happened in 2013, some more typhoon followed but not as strong, now this is the latest typhoon, strong but not as strong as Yolanda but still many of my countrymen in the north have suffered a lot.

@salonga I hope that any future storms/typhoons that are the stronger variety get blown back to sea instead of hurting your country men and women and children. God gave us the ability, if we believe, to cast things like that back to the sea. It would be great if we'd all learn how to make that happen so our loved ones would be safe. Praying always is a good start though.

I read about this in another post. Philippines has become a place where nature has not given up bashing them year in and year out, with the worst kind of natural disasters.
