A person who is more skilled with his/her right hand is a right handed person and a person who is more skilled with his/her left hand is known as a left handed person.
Right handed people are more common and are like almost 70-80% of total people in the world. But then there are few people who are skilled with both hands too...
I'm right handed
So which one is you ?

I am ambidextrous I can write and do whatever with both hands. I'm the only one in my family that can do this. Everyone else is mostly a lefty or righty.

@ashuli You could say I am a halfy. lol When I was a baby every time I picked up something in my left hand my mother put it in my right. Eventually I did everything with my right hand. However I can do certain things with my left and if I really try I can even write some.

Yes, what you said is right that most of the people are right handed in this world. Those who are right handed, left side of their brain is more active and functional and those who are left handed right side of their brain is more active.
I leave it to you to decided whether I am left handed or right handed. Let us see how good you are at guess work?

@ashuli - I can only say that you need to trust me that I will answer honestly. (Be sure, I will be honest in my reply, after your guess).

It is difficult for right handed people to use left hand, however, comparatively it is much easier for a left handed person to use his right hand.

@ashuli - Some of the parents (sadly) discourage their children not to use left hand, which is not fair.

I was forced at school to write with the right hand, like many at my time, but I am left handed. The way to know if you are naturally right or left handed is to jump. If your left leg is the first one to leave the floor, you are right handed ; if it is the right leg, you are left handed. Same thing when you sit cross-legged : a right handed sits to get up from the floor with his left leg, a left handed with his right leg.

@ashuli You will be surprised. We are taught very young to use our right hand : to shake hands, to write, etc, but you cannot cheat with your feet, and you will realize that there are a lot more left handed persons than you would have thought at first.

I'm lefthanded and when I first started school I remember the teacher continually took the pencil from my left hand and it into my right. Teachers are more enlightened these days.

@41CombedaleRoad I am right handed, dont remember writing with left hand as a kid but used to see teachers telling the left handed kids to write by right hand... this used to make me super curious... So always used to try doing things with left hand, but always ended up getting scolded

Wow, you just brought back so many memories for me @dpk262006 as I use to drive my mother crazy as a kid. I would always write with my right hand but I use to worry if something ever happened to it what would I do so I practiced using my left hand for a lot of things.
When I got a little older, I use to worry about not being able to use either hand so I practiced writing with my toes, holding the pencil between them.
I was a wacky kid, as you can tell, hahaha. I haven't tried my toes in a long time so maybe I better see if I can still do that.
Thanks for making me laugh so hard and bringing back some fun memories.

@ramapo17 - You were a super kid, I understand. You could not only write with your right hand but you mastered the art of writing with your left hand and thereafter with your toe. Writing with toe is most difficult, I understand. Hats off to you for your efforts.

I am both. I can do anything I want with both hands. However, when I was younger the school made me choose to write with my left or right hand and they pushed me to write with my right hand. I still write with both but more my right than my left.

@poehere but does your handwriting look the same? or can you tell if you've written something with your right or left hand?
can you also do other tasks with both hands?

Right-handed. Don't know what I would do if my right hand was broken or something.

@ashuli that's exactly my line of thought actually. Those who are dealing with that can fully appreciate God's gift. Not us normal people. My left hand was broken 5 months back and it was torturous enough.

it does not matter whether we are left handed or right handed.are we able to complete our tasks or not ?thats imp.many people say left handed are more intelligent.is this true?
well we should be thankful to god for giving us proper hands to use them because many people dont have hands also in proper manner.use them for good things.
