Last night, I attended a talk how to face and embrace your fear. It is not about fear of snakes or spiders or rats or heights or phobias that is at Ms @LadyDuck recent posted discussion. This the fear we feel emotionally. The fear that paralyzes and makes us depress.
The speaker told us that to overcome fear we need first to know what really are the things we are fearful about. Some people afraid of failure, afraid of retirement, of pain, of responsibility, of death.
Me? I am afraid that my parents be ashamed of me. That is why I carefully choose all my options in life. Because I want them to be proud of me.
You? What are your fears? What are the things you are afraid of?

Thank you for the mention. I also feared all my life to deceive my parents. If I should be able to go back in time, I would be more "myself" and make some different choices. When you age, you understand that you have only one life, that it's yours and you have to do what you like more and not what please the others.

It is correct that we should first find out the areas and things which make us feel nervous and jittery. More than 75% of our apprehension are just imaginary and they actually do not happen in our life, yet we keep apprehending.
I am not able to list out any immediate fear which lingers on in my mind. I believe in the quote - we will think about crossing a bridge, when we reach at the bridge.

I agree wholeheartedly with not crossing bridges unless we have to. We get strength for what we have to face not what we think we might one day encounter.

@41CombedaleRoad & @dpk262006 most of the people are fearful of the unknown. That is why some get stock and cannot move on the direction that they should be going.

What I fear the most maybe is to lose someone I love. ..I'm too weak to lose someone though I know that its one inevitable situation.. There are many ways to lose someone and that is sure to happen because no one or nothing is permanent in this world

There are many things make me worried. Such as I am afraid of the higher medical fees. This makes me feel insecurity in the future as it is too difficult to avoid it. It is common for people to have different diseases. It just depends on whether it is serious or not. I am afraid that a patient for a family will lead to be broke. Not everybody can afford the crazy treatments in the hospital. In this year we spent nearly $20700 for my mother-in-law because she had the heart disease. After that, she has to take many kinds of medicines everyday. And its cost is also expensive. It makes me to change a concept. We shall pay more attention to our health and this is the best way to save money. Doesn't it better to spend this money to travel and something like that?

I am afraid of chickens or poulty animals or live turkey. I created a discussion regarding this and some people were amazed that this kind of phobia exists.

@LadyDuck and @chiwasaki it just confirms that we, people, can't avoid in speaking up what they are afraid of.

@srisahara Take your time. At least you are ready to accept your mistake, unlike others who keeps on pinpointing the mistakes to others :)

Rejection is my main fear. I've lived my life with rejection and I tend to run from any further possibility of it, which is hard as an author when rejection of manuscripts is a given until a publisher opens its doors to your work. It took me a long time to overcome my fear and get my first novel published.

I'm sure I'm afraid of something but can't think of anything at the moment.
Oh yeah I wouldn't jump out of a plane for fun, that would scare me.

There are several, but one of the greatest fears for me is losing the trust of my loved ones. It would be hard to live with that.
