Creepy Situation

Since Friday evening I do not feel very well.
I have not a flu or a cold, but all my bones ache and I am as cold as a corpse.
No matter how many clothes I put on, I shiver like a leaf in the wind.
The worst moment is soon after the lunch. Today I had to sneak under the covers to try to warm up a little.
I was wearing my flannel pajamas, a wool sweater, a dressing gown and I covered my body with a duvet and two blankets, it took two hours to warm up a bit.
It's weird! I never had such a problem in my life.
If tomorrow the problem persists I go to see my doctor.

@topffer I felt cold all the day and I mainly stayed in bed. I only went down to the dining room to prepare something to eat for my husband and when I went back to bed I started to sweat, so much that I had to change my bed. Strangely enough this morning I am fine.

@SIMPLYD He thinks I could have eaten something that caused a serious allergic reaction. I remember that last Friday, I bought a soup while I was waiting for my husband at the hospital. If they have used something containing peanuts (even simple peanut oil), my doctor can be right.

@LadyDuck I have had that very symptom before without seeing a doctor, but mine didn't last for several days, so going to the doctor would still be best. If it's nothing, then he can determine that better than you or the rest of us.

I'm no doctor, but it sounds like the flu to me. Stay in bed under the covers today.

I hope you warm up and find out what the problem was. Does sound a bit weird especially if you don't feel as if you have the flu or a cold

@DeborahDiane I saw my doctor yesterday, he says that it is an infection of the urinary tract caused by very small kidney stones. I am getting a medicine he gave me, but time by time I feel the pain (and the cold).

something weird like that happened to me at work. i just started shivering i couldn't type anything. i went to the pantry where it's warmer, but my body wouldn't stop, so i went home and laid down.
if it happens again tomorrow, i agree, see your doctor since you don't have cold or flu symptoms.

@LadyDuck I sure hope you feel much better soon. I hate feeling bizarre and strange. Usually for me a good couple of days in bed solves most things.

It has happened to me before, but I have a rare blood disorder. I was shivering, my knees hitting the other side. Took 2 hours before I stopped this. My doc told me next time to go to the ER. He said that sometimes something could really go wrong.
I just wonder how I would get dressed to go since I am so cold then that I couldn't do a thing.
Could your husband take you to the ER?

He wanted to take me to the ER, but I was so cold that I did not want to move from my bed. The situation has completely changed during the night, I started sweating and by this morning I feel almost normal. I am going to talk with my doctor because t's weird.

I'm sorry to hear that, I hope it's nothing serious. I used to get high temperature at night time, usually after 7.30 pm or so. It lasted around 4-5 days. I was completely fine during the day, though. It never happened to me before that so I thought that was pretty strange.

@allknowing Thank you, I had in the past and what I usually drink is pomegranate and cranberry juice, they are the only remedies that work for me.

Good idea. This could be something simple or not. But he should be able to figure it out. Good luck.

@LadyDuck Right. Sometimes we let things go too far before getting help. I have learned the line. Once an illness hits it, I know that I cannot handle it on my own and I go. You might want to pay better attention to finding yours.

I once landed in hospital for a few days after my whole body went into uncontrollable shivering and I didn't even feel cold. It was discovered I had an internal infection after a prostate biopsy. Antibiotics saved the day!
