Have to walk before anything

I went out first thing and took a walk. It seems if I do not do it early on, it gets cut short or eliminated all together.
I wore a pedometer part of yesterday, but not all day. I will have to admit the results were rather dismal.
I have already walked more today that I did all day yesterday.
It is still not enough.
There are some telephone calls I need to make and then I need to get busy.
This is a terrific Tuesday. There are a few clouds, but the sun is shining. The weather this year is more like spring summer in this first week of November. How is it for you guys?

I do not use a pedometer because it only seems to work if I walk quickly. I time myself and try to walk a little longer every time.

I have a good quality pedometer and it seems to work fine. I know a lot of people like their "fit bit" but I feel that is too intrusive.

I have a knee that gives me fits. I believe it would feel better if I lost at least twenty pounds.

I try to focus on the neat looking stuff around me. I used to walk and never get tired.

I would say that having more steps than the day before is progress, just keep raising that, even if by a few a day, and eventually you will get to whatever your goal is

Ten thousand a day is supposed to be good. I have walked a lot today but not that many quite. Of course it is still a couple of hours until bed time.

@GardenGerty a gray day and very damp. My sciatica was acting up all day and it was difficult getting around with it feeling like a pin was being jabbed in my lower back. Sure hope the sun comes out tomorrow since I have to get to the city.

I am so sorry about your pain. Are there any stretches you can do that help it?

@GardenGerty Usually a good massage with some back rub and then I walk up and down my stairs stretching the painful leg behind me. Afterwards it feels much better. Just a thing that won't completely go away.

Don't despair. Everything counts and soon you will see the results of your walking. We've had a very mild November so far, even October was warmer than usual. As much as I love winter, I hope the warm weather holds out until I can get my furnace fixed.

@GardenGerty Not yet. I called them on Monday and they said they were sending me a form to send them more info. It hasn't come yet.

We are getting gorgeous weather. It's really too bad I'm working and can't enjoy it. I hope next week is just as nice as I get a couple days off.

I haven't gone out for walks in days, its been raining non stop and there are puddles everywhere. I don't want to risk falling on the road. I have been trying to walk in the house with my phone in my pocket.. I have an app that measures my steps.. I am still walking only 4000 steps perday as opposed to 7-8000 steps I usually do.

I am impressed that you do that much. I know, I certainly do not want to fall.

I use to be a great walker but in the past 12 years I have P.A.D. and each year it gets worse--now I am lucky if I can walk 2 blocks without having to stop!

I thought walking was supposed to prevent PAD. I am sorry that you cannot do much walking anymore.

Walking is a good physical exercise. I don't walk . . but sometimes jog at the playground just across the street from our house. But everyday before I take the shower I do 25 push-ups and lots of stretchings.

Many years ago I needed to do 3 or 4 hours piano practice a day. I had children at school and some piano pupils so I was pretty busy. I used to do most of my practice as soon as the kids left for school, otherwise it just didn't get done. We have a beautiful day here too.

My clothes give me an indication whether I am exercising enough and walk seems the best choice.

Taking a walk is a pretty good thing and rather conductive to clearing your head. I agree it has to be done early. Thinking about it right now, if I don't take a walk early in the morning, there's going to be something which comes up. There always does.
Weather has been pretty decent for a walk the last couple of days, but there's really no excuse when I can walk around inside. Just as long as I keep active and keep moving during those winter months. The weather has been nice since November started so I'm going to enjoy it for as long as I can until it turns around. Hopefully we get at least a good week or two out of it, but clouds are rolling in for this weekend.

Yes, just doing my house chores adds up too. The only thing that does not add up is me sitting at the computer all the time.

I agree with you @GandeGerty we should walk as early as we can because we become busy as the hours tick by. I also need to get moving like you.

I find I get the most walking in when the grand kids are around and other than that I don't do enough either, Its like a vicious circle. I got a Fitbit and that seems to help me much more.
