Do you remember in what situation you met your best friend?

Most of my best friends now are related to my studies of literature. But for decades now, the fact the we both like to read and write is incidental. There are lots of things that are more important for us. Do you remember how and when you met your best friend? Or your best friends? Are you friends with them for many years?

I met my best friend in school. He is a left handed and does everything from his left hand. I being a right handed, this fascinated and over a period of time we became best friend. As he lives near my house, so our friendship is still going on.

@marguicha they certainly did think that being left handed was not good, I was MADE to do everything with my right hand.

@marguicha Yes, some of us think that writing one left hand is a bad thing, although it is a misconception.

When I was in school, my being lefthanded was more a problem to me. There are no problems now for left handed people, but when I was a child, people thought it was a bad habit

None. No friend in real world. It was all a myth that I was into believing. Time proved that no one, not even your own shadow is with you when you are in the dark. The ones from the real world are merely acquaintances today. Have a few from MyLot, some on Facebook too, though. The ones at (and from MyLot - they keep me happy, and I am interested more in them than many others.

When I changed into my senior school I walked there together with my cousin and another girl. She eventually became my best friend and our friendship started with that walk when my friend started to tell us her dreams - it was along walk.

Isn't it amazing how we meet people and sometimes they become our best friends. Your friendship started with a walk and continued.

I was in third grade we just moved from MD to NJ in the middle of the year. I was the new kid and this girl started talking to me, we looked a lot alike - I think that's why we became friends, that was around 1958 or 59 and we are still friends!

Your story sounds like the story of my american friend and I. She was killed in a car accident when she was a little over 40, but I still think of her.

@AbbyGreenhill Coming to think of it, I believe she was the first person I lost who meant a lot to me. But she taught me that we still have each other.

Other than my childhood friends, i have a friend 'made online' on a chat site more than a decade ago. I know its hard to believe but the beauty of our friendship is we have not stopped mailing and over these years both the families are friends now. Again its a long distance friendship and we haven\t had any chance to see each other in person!!! Yes, i am still a friend to few of mylotters.. seems my friends are more online than offline ones....

@marguicha,I and my best friend were strangers to each other when we first met on the railway platform. The train was a bit late and we began talking about trains. Then our conversation touched other aspects of our life and we became friends. He's a friend in need.I have always found him standing by me whenever I am in trouble.
