An apparition or spectre of possibly a Doctor in an old British hospital, was spotted and photographed in the 1990's, reportedly, shortly after the old Poole Hospital sanatorium was closed down for good, in 1989.
The pic above was originally posted on FB, where it caused quite a stir, at the time.
As anyone who has worked there, agrees, from medical staff to night watchmen, the building is a very scary, spooky place, with a strange feel about it,where no one would relish walking alone through it's very long corridors.
So what do you think? A ghost or trick of the light?
Most of the building has now been demolished and some repurposed for housing, so if it was a haunted site, many new residents may be in for a rude awakening

@bookbar I consider the Rorschach test to encompass any similar system and not necessarily an inkblot. Most people have done the same looking into a fire or up at the clouds and trying to identify familiar objects from the shape. Even the ancient civilisations did this with the stars, which is the origin of the names of constellations.
Hermann Rorschach did not develop anything original, he simply applied a long established practice and used inkblots as an alternative.

I think ghosts are either due to visual or aural pareidolia or the results of schizophrenia. For example, look at the "face" in the ham I had for my dinner.

@EugenesDDen... I'd take it back if I were you, looks singularly unappetising

Probably a trick of the light. I used to work in a huge old psych hospital. That too had its "ghosts." A little scary walking in the corridor alone at night.

The UK is a much older place than here in the States. I don't know why but tales of spectors from the UK are much the more fascinating. A lot of the
"photograps" you see online, however, leave much to be questioned. I don't tend to believe them as they can easily be doctored up. No Pun Intended.
My Favorite ghostly encounter (recorded) is of King Henry VIII at the door of one of his homes. I can't remember which but I am sure it's easily enough researched.

I'm going to go for 'trick of the light'. Our mind is conditioned to make sense of vague shapes, so it's likely that under careful scrutiny this 'doctor' won't actually look anything like a human figure.

I don't know, but I almost walked right into a glowing figure in the dark once. She looked like this one, but shorter.

It's not a ghost. I love ghost stories, but I'm afraid I can't bring myself to believe in such things. I can't say for sure what the picture is, but it could be a range of thingsāa trick of the light, a shadow or the result of tampering. But the departed are departed.
And as far as England being "older" than the United States, that overlooks the idea that people have been living here for quite a while. They just didn't speak English or leave a written record.
