My £10,000 Challenge

Ireland
November 17, 2015 7:37am CST
I've been thinking a lot about the fact i have no savings recently and have decided to take a very big step towards rectifying that situation. £10,000 is a massive amount to aim for i know, but its for my retirement fund so actually its really not very much to be aiming for. I actually started the challenge a few weeks ago with a grand total of 19p in my savings account but today I have increased that to just over £70 thanks to some sales, some payments from survey sites and a few pounds i discovered in old accounts. I'm looking forward to hitting the first £100 and the first 1% of my target :)

I presume you are starting to save while you are still young, that is a good thing to do and makes me feel that you will achieve your goals. Let us know when you get that first $100.

I have a friend from several online sites who has persisted in putting his online earnings to good use and has paid off all except his mortgage,, and is now working on that. You can do this. We all should.

That is a good thing to help pay your bills and then to start working on a mortgage payment which means the house will be paid off sooner.

Yes i am already doing that - i paid off all my debts and pay a bit extra off my mortgage too each month all from online earnings. This is an additional fund i want to work on!

Good for you to start saving now for your retirement fund as it is never to early to start. Just think in no time at all you will have reached your goal.

@TrulyQrirkyMe Very interesting but you just have to remember it is for your retirement and not to be spent on anything else.

Hiya, I think I've seen your post on the green money site. It was the 19p in savings that reminded me. It's a great goal. Going 1% at a time makes it manageable. I might do something similiar with my next years savings goal. I'll watch your progress!
