Food for pay

My family loves to bake. My mom learned from my grandma and I learned from both of them. I feel honored, in fact, to have learned from both of them. So one way we show love to our loved ones is by cooking and baking for them. We feel it's a way to bring a family together, not only for holidays, but for anytime. When someone does something for us as a favor, such as fix our plumbing, or work on our car, we make sure they are taken care of and they never leave without a couple loafs of bread, for example. I guess you can say is food is our way of showing we love you in my family. Do you like cooking and baking? What's your speciality?

It's a good skill to have. And fairly easy to learn. But it does take practice. I'm sure if you practice you'll get it down in no time. :-)

What a lovely thing to do, to respond to a favour by giving a gift of food. I am not the cook in our house- luckily for all. I keep thinking I would love to learn to do one dish really well. I can cook if I have to, but it's a task, not a labour of love. My husband never cooks dessert, or sweet things but he does lovely main meals. Perhaps I could plan to perfect something like biscuits or small cakes.

Starting small and simple is a good idea. :-) Maybe you can make something for husband to say I love you for cooking dinner one night? That is if he likes sweets. And remember you can make semi healthy sweets

I try to be healthy when I cook. But baking, that's a little harder. Although my grandma was getting into the diabetic stuff there for awhile. My mom tries to cook and bake vegan sometimes

@kevin1877uk I tend to buy my soup already made from the store. Lately I haven't been cooking much just for myself. I only really cook on Mondays.

I love lasagna. I never mastered making soups. Although I tried chicken noodle and did good there.

I don't care for cooking so much although I cook quite well and every day. Perhaps if I did not have to do it every day I might enjoy cooking more. My idea of the perfect holiday is to have someone else do the cooking for me.

That is true, sometimes it was hard to get us all together. But when we did it was great
